Sacking him at the end of the season would have drawn a reaction similair to this however, at least Nigel would of been given the chance to finish what he started. This just feels like Cortese has well and truly screwed Nigel over.

 

Crazy statement.....I am a proud Saints fan and love my Football Club.

But Cortese's decision tarnished us today.....the whole football community from Sir Alex Ferguson downwards left absolutely dumbfounded.

Not much sympathy in football I know. But I would of liked to have put my arm round Nigel, when he apparently left the training ground in tears this morning.

 

Trouble is folks call me a softy or whatever, I still feel Ive kinda lost a mate today. I understand that you have just got to move on from tragic things only too well, but because you can do that doesn't actually make it any easier. The suddeness of it all does leave a taste and regretfulness. You do though quite rightly have to move forward and onward.....

 

I'll watch all of his interviews at his new club.

 

I bet Cortese wishes he had sacked Nigel after the bad start...then he'd have got a bit less flak from fans and the media. It is hypocritical the way everyone in the media is rallying to berate Cortese when they didn't rate Adkins until quite recently.

Am I the only one ashamed to have that bloke from SISA representing us on Sky. He was moaning that Cortese wouldn't speak to him....well, I wouldn't speak to him either. Listening to him actually made me want to support Cortese. Sorry, if he has mates on here.

 

Exactly how i feel, been commenting on threads all day trying to find enough words to describe how i feel, I think this could be it for a while for me in terms of following Saints, i need a while to try and get my head around what has happened.

 

He'll be wishing more than that come May.
