We were asked to tidy up the stickies. I unstuck that one as there had not been a post for over 24 hours. (Since about 11. 49am yesterday) which is traditionally when we unstick them mainly because of lack of interest. If there is enough of you want it back then it can of course be done, that's not a problem. Just drum up enough support.
It was deemed as agitating not offensive. It was not one persons opinion with power. It was actually deleted after taking advice from my colleague and administration. I also asked acquaintances how they viewed it while awaiting admins advice. You know this because I pm'd that information to you. So I ask you if you are to make statements like that to make sure the are accurate. You suggest quite rightly this is a free society but that does not mean it is a society that only caters for one point of view. In a free society there is many views and all need to be taken into consideration including yours. There are also rules made in society usually made from some sort of agreement. Then Society ask people to enforce those rules. You may not like them but in a free society they will ask you to abide by them. The people that asked us to do this job asked us to do certain things. It does not matter whether we agree or disagree with what the people want. If that is how they say this site is to be run then we have to go along with it and implement their wishes. In addition while there is not too many rules from the administration, there are certain principles and guidelines that have to be followed. Now judging from the response you actually got from your original post not to many people felt like responding to your "ring tone" advert. So perhaps there was not that many that actually felt like taking your offer up. If they did that is fine by me as you achieved partly what you set out to do.
I agree with Beddytare. There are various sites to cater for different people. I know my son favours Saints Forum. On other sites, I like it at the beginning and then it ends up with a slanging match especially late at night..to me boring but fun to others. All sites shouldn't be the same.

Every one is entitled to their opinions........Some people just wont except rules or guidelines I guess. Mods only do what the site in general has asked them to do. Whether the mod agrees with the subscribers or not he has to abide by the majority. For me one of the things that keeps raising its ugly head and that is some people cannot or wont distinguish between a moderation post and a post by us the individual. They seem to forget we post as individuals as well as having to moderate. Some new posters so I'm told come over and want to do as they like, be how they like and to hell with what others on the site actually want. When a mod trys to intervene and to advize them what the site has decided on certain issues. They throw their dummies out of the pram. Thankfully we haven't had too many issues of that type. Any that we have had which has been very small to be fair, we mods have usually had the backing of all that were posting at the time. We can't do the job without the backing of the subscribers as in many ways the site is self regulated. I speak as I find, we are not going to please all that is for sure. As I said before at the end of the day it is what you out there tell us what you want us to do.
Interestingly he didn't get too much support for his way of thinking. In fact in 3 hours he has had no support. As I said before you are not going to please all.
Do you not think that the rumour mongers amongst us will keep us going? What do we normally talk about? Last year was it not speculation over Pompey during the summer. Plus the rumours of who we were going to buy or not buy? This year it will be the buyers lining up to buy OXO, Lallana and Spider, not to forget Lambert, Holmes, Puncheon and the like. Of course then we will have the rumours of players being linked to us which by all accounts has already started. Its only about 9 weeks worth of rumours whats that to us...........
If people don't like this site, they should look for another one. I don't mean that in an antagonistic way, but not606 may not be the site for them. I like the Echo site but sometimes have to leave it, especially late at night, because the tit for tat arguments are not for me.

What did I disagree about? I just stated a fact nothing more. If you do not like it on this board then don't stay. Either way it won't bother me. It is not my stock reply either!! Sorry you feel that way Beddytare but I`m not sure what you mean about getting off your case! I believe that to be the first comment I’ve made about a post of yours that wasn’t in agreement with you! My reply was just something I had noticed and so I`m just a bit surprised you have taken it so personal, I don’t have a problem with you and I can only hope if I post something you don’t agree with in future you will see its not meant to offend you (even if it’s a little tongue in cheek) but just a point of notice or a simple reply Here’s to hoping that you can see this as minor misunderstanding
