    I can't quite decide.

On the one hand it condenses the speculation into one month.

On the other hand that condensation means the bullshit is often at fever pitch

Due to injuries and suspensions, having a small four week window to remedy your squad is no bad thing. Otherwise, due to some dreadful luck, you could be playing a season with no strikers.

A necessary evil I think, pretty unnerving most of the time, but owing to injuries, lack of form, etc, it needs to be there, I would like to see the summer transfer window completed before the start of the season, it's just disruptive.

Think of the poor supporters/suckers who get a favourite players name on their tops, a Christmas gift, or start of a new season, only to find they're moving on........:emoticon-0120-doh:

The rumours aren't that condensed... BBC gossip column runs all year round because the journalists bullshit machine works all year round... The one thing I'm thankful for in the modern age of rumours is no Ceefax, because I used to hate having to wait 8 pages just to finish the one I was on as there was soooo much text...

But yeah, just before the window and during is an absolute nightmare for manager's I'm sure.

Does it stop teams from buying themselves out of trouble as before? Nope, it makes it slightly trickier, but they can still do it. However, such a narrow window really only benefits selling clubs, players, and player's agents. Deadline day especially.

Do I like it? Well I like knowing that the team we have at the start will at least be there for a few months, and I think the transfer window is more exciting than before, but I think the timing of it is quite poor. If we were to have a winter break, I believe it'd be fairer, but some teams play so often in the space of the 4 weeks you wonder if there's really time to do transfers as well.

Some names will live on forever in Newcastle folklore.

Wor Jackie 9 and TOON 5-1 31-10-10 will always be remembered.

The January transfer window, Erik Pieters will not be in it! This evening he played his first regular match in 9 months, lost 1-3 to relegation candidate PEC Zwolle.
Pieters got a red card and smashed in a window on his way to the locker room

Quite right, but that was in the day when footballers tended to last more than five minutes with one club!

His coach Dick Advocaat stated that he has a deep cut in his forearm and needs treatment. Even though he is suspended next week he will more likely be injured aswell due to his cut. If Carr sees this he will most likely hand in a negative report on Pieters. He played a dreadful game on top of that. Can't count the amount of mistakes he made.
