I very nearly got nicked for throwing eggs at demonstrating Nazis a few years back. Water off a duck's back!
Was that in the UK mate? I didn't think that demo would've been allowed? I thought it would come under the incitement to hatred act? Good point Stainesy. My mother said that in her day "coloured" was the acceptable word and "black" wasn't. Now its the other way around. Alan Hansen got in trouble recently for saying "coloured" on MOTD.
Like i said not here to cause a stir, this was all over earlier in the day and we all moved on. Don't know the other Willy and I am not him. Generally put off now by what I thought was a fair comment. Will leave you all to it.
out of interest why is that? all I did was point out the using the word 'coloured' could be construed as inappropriate and you want me off the site. Do you run the site Swords? It very much seems like a forum that is not for me if this is the general consensus.
Take no notice of Swords, he's always looking for an argument. Lock him in a room on his own and he'd be at his throat in no time!...
OK! With me RBlock, but you haven't once accepted that I am not a racist. Swords, however, has read what I have read.
Not at all mate. You said you were going to leave and I said its probably for the best. I was agreeing with you. The reason I agreed with you was simply because you've only posted a few times yet one of those posts was to accuse a regular of poor taste, at best and racism at worst. But if you've changed your mind, by all means hang around. As you say, its a free forum and you're entitled to post what you wish.
I accept it and don't actually recall naming you a 'racist' at all. I would not do that. Again I am not here to cause trouble and am a genuine QPR fan and have been for as long as I can remember. To be honest with you I genuinely thought it was a fair comment and surely highlighting that word is not appropriate is OK?
I think you're an honest bloke Rblock, if a little over sensitive. Totally, have they unlimited freedom of speech in Sweden like in the USA?
More of a Def Leppard fan. People who wear beige socks and listen to Level 42 are boring people who are ready for pipe and slippers!
I lived in Stockholm for three months a long time ago. Great place. Very pricey though. Are the Swedish Democrats summat like that Christian Solidarity crowd in Brussels?
Don't know so much about them, but the Swedish Dems were a nazi-party, but have toned down a lot since they tried to get votes from dumb idiots. Two years ago they got over 4% which gets them into parliament. All the other parties ignore them, but they sometimes can be influential as the left nor right do not have a majority. The Swedes (as I see it) never really understood or felt the effects of WW2, so they are extremely passive regarding the fascist way of (not) thinking. Their media is anti Israel, which obviously doesn't help. Sweden and Europe are starting to forget what should never be forgotten.
Its an interesting slant you have there Totally. You live there so you must know what you're talking about. I think the whole of Europe was effected considerably by WW2 and I doubt certain Countries are not fully aware of what Hitler did etc. By that rationale, one could say that the UK wouldn't be as anti-fascist as say France because the war wasn't fought in Britain. I wouldn't accept that. Besides, the educational systems since the war would have a far bigger impact on opinion than the actual war experiences of the citizens who are all nearly dead by now. And being anti-Israel is no bad thing in my opinion! Still, you make some good points there friend.
