It'll all become clear before too long, too much media attention has been given to it to just let it stay as is.

Swap deals and feeder systems would be great for a long term plan if the club was healthy and doing well. The problem for me is that we are in real danger now of losing our Premiere League status.
We don't have the luxury of time being on our side.
The only realistic way we could let Colo leave in this window, is to replace him with another CB or equal quality.
Plus the CB we need to replace Williamson. If that can be achieved then good luck to him, but we simply cannot dig ourselves a deeper hole because he has some sort of mystery problem.
The reality sadly is that, Colo wants the club to jeapordise itself in order to facilitate his desire to return to Argentina, his reason for wanting to go is totally irrelevant. The Board cannot risk our future in this way, no matter how difficult it is for Colo.

No, the kids are still in Newcastle. Colo was photographed a couple of days ago at his son's football training.

LTF, I totally agree. I can't think of any good reason why you would leave your kids (unless you were desperate for a holiday!).

The only thing I can come up with is that Mrs C. is suffering from some kind of depression. That could explain a couple of things.

Perhaps she's the guilty party <yikes>

Awful thing to say I know, but my point is we just don't know!

Poorly handled by the club looking in without the facts I have to say but its hard to really comment without knowing the facts or actual sequence of events. I just know he'll have to stay put regardless until May because we can't do without. As I said earlier the only viable reason I'd accept as a club is a serious illness for his partner, a la Van Der Sar. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough but I think the club should have dealt with it quicker to stop the speculation. I suppose in their defence they would argue his performance against Norwich showed it was not having any further affect on his performances past what it already had.

I can see her leaving her kids if, for example, her mother had cancer and she was going to care for her.

Be surprising if she required the whole family to move to Argentina, even for that.

Damn. I said I was going to stop pointless speculation

In what way? It's the '99 top as worn by Albert when he scored his wonder goal against Man Utd.

Seasonal affective disorder. I am being serious. People who aren't used to cold winters and long nights sometimes find it really hard adjusted to winters in northern Europe.

Changed it and resized it, seems we have lesser pixels allowed for our av's now.

    Like this one better anyway.

Wonder if the uncertainty over Colo if holding up decisions over CB signing? I guess if he goes the requirements possibly change quite a bit.

Shouldn't be stopping us getting another back up CB in mind

News update on one of NUFC's linked defenders: Erik Pieters is playing his first official game in 4 months this evening. During the winter break Pieters recovered from a metatarsal fracture. PSV Eindhoven is currently 0-1 down against PEC Zwolle.
