Charlton and Millwall want Ephraim on loan
    18/01/2013
    by David McIntyre
Charlton and Milwall want to take QPR’s Hogan Ephraim on loan for the rest of the season.

Ephraim, 24, would favour a move to Charlton having spent time on loan at The Valley in 2011.

Addicks boss Chris Powell has shown interest in taking him back there but financial restrictions mean he may struggle to agree a deal with Rangers over the forward’s wages.

The same applies to Millwall manager Kenny Jackett, who is an admirer of Ephraim and earmarked him as a potential signing for the Lions’ left wing before bringing in Martyn Woolford from Bristol City.

Jackett remains keen on the former West Ham trainee, who can also play on the right or through the middle.

Ephraim was named in QPR’s last 25-man squad but has not made a single first-team appearance this season.

He twice sought a loan move from Loftus Road when Mark Hughes was Rangers boss but the Welshman refused to let him go – and was sacked the day after the loan window closed.

Hughes’ successor Harry Redknapp has since made it clear that Ephraim is not in his plans and can go elsewhere.

Was very good for the first half of our league winning season, linked well with Tarbs but i agree his time is up. Lots of promise but too light weight.

Bang on the money - sad to say this is very true - I put him in the same category as Matthew Connelly. In truth just not good enough at EPL level.

I like him. More use than Park on the wing for sure.

Loyal to the club, having stuck around as a backup player for so long...would love to see him go and do a decent job in the Championship. Good luck to him.

not exactly had much chance to prove himself, should not of been selected in the 25 though as 99% of us knew, Mark Hughes was the 1%

Surely HR wont include him in the 25.

I would expect the following to be out of the 25:

Ephraim, Dyer (gone), Bosingwa, Cisse (loaned out), Nelsen (surely cant be put in it).

That free's up 5 spaces for:

Remy, Ben Haim, M'Vila (if signed), and 2 others either new or one of the returned loanees. And if Livermore is one other signed then he wont count as one of the 25.

He's got a good attitude but he's never going to be a good PL player, Hughes was the 1% on a lot of things.

Me too. Was never given a chance. When you think of all the chances Phillps, Bothroyd, Barton etc were given despite playing sh*te every week, it makes you wonder.

You right he hasn't been given a chance in the PL, I haven't seen him play since we were in the Championship. But when Colin, Hughes and now Harry haven't considered him worth giving a chance he probably isn't good enough.

I can remember him playing away to Everton which we won 1-0 just before the takeover and he played very well that day.

    Still, I trust in 'Arry.

I had high hopes for Mat Connelly, and no doubt he & Gorrks were huge players for us in the NPC but didn't quite make the step up.

He's young enough, look how Puncheon seems to have turned his career around.
