To be associated with a club which has treated this man like this makes me sick. Humor diginity unbeatable positivity all mixed with amazing success. He will always be a legend in my book no matter what corparte bullshit NC wants to talk about this club. Wherever he goes i'll have a soft spot for and I hope he proves cortese wrong in the most dramatic fashion possible.

What do we mean by "he can do miles better than that?" We think Southampton would be miles better than Blackpool! Not if they sh** on him like the way we have done!! If he goes to Blackpool I am certain they will treat him much better than Cortese has done!!

I'm still in shock...Nigel was more than just the Manager of SFC, a principled man, he was a superb ambassador for the club, with his easy, natural charisma and the way that he managed to get the team to play attractive, attacking football. He has raised the profile of The Saints and restored pride to all of the fans and it's a shame that he was only just starting to enhance his reputation with the football media with the way that the team has performed in the last couple of months. One thing is for certain, he will not be out of work for very long, although I hope that he waits for a job that his ability deserves, but whoever he chooses, he will be a success, I have no doubt of that and he could easily become a future England Manager. Just a mention for Andy Crosby too as I'm sure Nigel recognises is as important to him as Peter Taylor was to Brian Clough, best of luck to both of them for their future careers in the game, although they will definately suceed without it. Thanks Nigel and Andy, you are true Saints legends.
I am shocked and saddened by today's news. Nigel has done a great job for Saints and was so popular with the fans and, it would appear, with the players. My best wishes and heartfelt thanks go to him, and I shall watch his future career with great interest. As for Saints its onwards and hopefully upwards. Pity it wont be with our Nigel!!!
90 minutes of gratitude for Nigel on Monday. Then, unfortunately we will have to move on from Nigel and accept a new era of saints management. No vitriol towards MP, just pure celebration of Nigels achievements. He deserves much more than that so it's the least we can do.
Just like bornpompey driving through the snow back home turn the laptop on and went to sports looking for news saying forren signed. Then like the rest of the saints fans on this website i was gutted, just gutted. Never felt so bad about a manager leaving since Gordon (best of luck to him at Scotland.) I lived of Nigel's enthusiasm and loved his ridiculous sayings! My main fear now is that with the bus driver being kicked out of his seat and some random coming to drive who might not understand the UK roads then will the Bus drive off a cliff with all of us on it?! Lets face it, Nigel or no Nigel we can't stop supporting our team.

I agree he has been treated abysmally by Saints and deserved better. My main point was, that I think he can walk into a top championship club at the very least.
