If we got Wesley in he could plug the gap of an ageing Gerrard for a couple of years, taking the pressure off say Hendo and Shelvey.
Sneijder's been injured quite a bit in recent years, he hasn't performed to anywhere near his best when he has played, and I think I read something like Inter had only a 45% win rate in games he's started since 2010... Footballing genius but long past his best and wouldn't be cheap if you consider his wages. Not sure if he would be a good signing on balance. It's another big gamble and over the last few years, we tend to lose the gambles we take.
In 2010, Sneijder got a major part in delivering Inter the treble and bringing Holland to the WC final. After that, he became injury prone but maybe with the right care he can reach his old level. In that case he will be the bargain of the year.
I thought the title said "Robbie Savage saying we are interested in Sneijder... thought how the hell does he know? For £6mil and reasonable wages (heard we are trying to offer lower wages to players with better performances related add on which if works is a good idea) can't see it being a bad deal. He'd add that creativity in the middle of the park and if Suarez, Gerrard, Sturridge and Sneijder could link up well then it would be a a real threat.
Don't think it will happen, but could be like when spurs signed VDV, not as much baggage but a player looking to prove he is good enough for a top club in a top league. I'm all for it but BR seems to have distanced himself from him.
