Even MON doesn't seem to realise that there is a difference between Geordie and Skunk..I know that Stokoe, who he referred to, was a Skunk supporter as a lad, but he of all people should know that loads of our fans are also Geordies...

It depends whether certain fans are willing to give them the opportunity. Thats childhood NUFC supporters not Geordies.

Its a good point plenty of Geordies support SAFC, a big difference between a Geordie and a Mag.

For some, me included, if will have to really work very hard on and off the pitch to win me over and there is no guarantee he ever will. I may just have to tolerate his presence until he leaves but I will be on his case for the slightest hint of dissent.

For others he will be welcomed open arms and will have to **** up to disappoint.

For the record, I totally bought into Lee Clark coming here and supported him completely against some fans criticism at the time, only to be **** on from a great height by the spotty little twat.

I'm just not the forgive and forget type and Danny Graham merely represents another Clark moment waiting to happen for me. I don't want him here at my club at all but I do think he is a decent player. I would just rather we looked elsewhere and hope Norwich are successful in their offer and this blows over.

    DG is not LC.

Suppose DG is our hardest working player, always giving his all for a few seasons. But things do not go for him, balls don't fall for him, bobbles, poor refs etc. And yet you would still hold a grudge because he hasn't performed on a level akin to Ronaldo or Messi. To me, that makes you no better than LC and these other mags who have been nothing butt 'trouble'.

Cest, surely you can understand the situation he was put in at Wembley. Granted, he's black and white, he'll have been forced to put that t-shirt on as a joke. Did he not give 100% for you on the pitch? Most of my red and white acquaintances say he was a great player for you. And Chopra? Was it not a case of his arse falling out at the wrong time?

We've had no problem with Barry Venison, Paul Bracewell, David Kelly,Jeff Clarke etc who played for you before us.

The mark of a man who is losing the argument is the pitiful desperation in his words.

When did I say he had to be either of the above? My point is if he doesn't hit the ground running, scoring goals, playing well, showing more than just turning up and going through the motions he will be under pressure.

Couple that with a horror miss in the Derby game, intentionally or totally innocently, there will be huge parts of the support turning on him.

He is a divisive signing, splitting our camp not uniting it and what we need are players we can all get round and support.

This is a massive error imo and if he was called upon to put us before his boyhood team, both still very much in the relegation stakes, then what will if do?

Clarke admitted in an interview his heart wasn't in any game against the mags and was quite glad if didn't have to make that choice. Marcus has said earlier that Chopra HAS revealed to friends and family if duffed his chance in the derby on purpose.

I'm just not prepared to gamble Graham is any different to then two ****ers and give another mag supporting player the chance to **** up over ever again.

I wish the lad well elsewhere and as I have said, he's a decent player but just don't want to see him in my teams shirt at any costs.

Cest, we should know in the next 48 hrs whether we need to look elsewhere. At least MoN is trying to get them in earlier than he has done in the past.

The problem is, there isn't a great deal of quality apparently out there at the minute. My concern are the next 16 games - we need better cover for Fletcher than we have now.

I never questioned his play or on the field commitment. If was a good player but that t shirt was a no return moment for him. How would venison have been thought of had if been pictured at Wembley, with Sunderland, wearing an FTM t shirt and ripping the piss?

He'd have been chased out of town and absolutely slaughtered on the pitch.

Clarke was from Manchester and Bracewell from Stoke and both totally different examples.

Just for reference, I'd happily have Coloccini, Cabaye and Ben Arfa without blinking an eye.

You are all missing the absolute fundamental issue in all this.

I can't accept Newcastle supporting players, who have slagged my club off, worn anti Sunderland shirts or written in a national magazine that we are the last club in the world he'd offer support in his opinion.

How can Danny Graham ever give us his all with those sentiments? I think not.

Forced? Had a gun at his head did they?

Venners never made any big deal of his love for Sunderland & never ****ed you over.
Bracewell, Clarke, Kelly, etfuckingcetera were not dyed in the wool red & whites.

    Hope this helps, <ok>.

I agree with Cest totally here.
What Graham said (below) makes any future position at SAFC untenable.
If Messi was a fan of SAFC and slagged the Toon off before moving to us I'd do my nut.

Albert your lot would crucify anyone who said likewise about the mags and rightly so.

So I've lost the argument. Desperation in the words I use- how about the desperation of taking a metaphorical remark as a literal comparison. Really Cest? You have your opinion, I have mine, and others have theirs. Thats fair enough.

Graham could be just what we need, could just be a decent squad player, or total flop. I'm not prepared to cut my nose off to spite my face over the fact that hes a mag. You say that you're not prepared to take the risk over him showing his true colours against the mags. Life is all about risks buddy. So you think theres a greater chance that he would screw us over than to perform for the club paying his wages?!?! Quite frankly if the club deems 'these sorts' of player to be suitable there is something deeply wrong with the club, just as much as those so called professional footballers.

Sorry but his comments make him look like a prize idiot and a hypocrite of the first order if he signs for us.
