Just saw something interesting, article on WhoScored about outfield players with the most 'defensive errors' (Defined either as an 'error' that led to a goal or conceding a penalty or scoring an own goal) in the top 5 European leagues. In second place was our Jos with four, two penalties conceded and two own goals, and interestingly in first was Davide Astori with 2 Errors, 2 Penalties and an own goal. Apparently both errors and one of the penalties came in the first game of the season which could just indicate he had an really bad off day that has skewed his stats, but still, interesting.

That was obviously written before Jon Walters took to the field last weekend!

Well, installing a new manager during the transfer window surely heralds some interesting activity to come. Coutinho perhaps? He played briefly under Pochettino on loan at Espanyol.

Maybe when Adkins was asked about the Forren signing and he said your asking the wrong person, he was being serious.

Bring on Coutinho, Zarate and Alvarez.

Few Spanish Journo's saying Pochettino has been seen scouting in Spain and Italy for about a month hmmm.

It would not surprise me in the slightest as I think installing Pochettino has been in place for a while. Forren is probably his signing as Adkins kept avoiding any questions on the signing.

I think he was referring to Cortese, but yeah, funny how these apparently throwaway comments take on new significance...

Yeah I'm sure Pochettino knew he was coming here for a while. And perhaps Adkins did too. It was always his style to be evasive though.

Maybe Pochettino suggested some of our targets (Coutinho being the perfect example) to Cortese whilst the two were discussing the possibility of him taking over from Adkins?

Again, this is all speculation as with 99% of everything else regarding the club due to the "loose lips sink ships" policy we seem to have adopted over the last few years.

Pochettino: "there's no need necessarily to bring in new players before the window closes" #saintsfc

****ing brilliant

Scratch that.

Quote from the manager himself in the first press conference: "there's no need necessarily to bring in new players before the window closes"
