    This is a disgrace but we should not boo, but instead sing there is only one Nigel Adkins.
    All the best to NA for the future - a future that will probably see you at another Premier side very soon.

    I am by no means an Adkins-lover, and at times I found him quite irritating, but I completely disagree with the decision to remove him. He got us promoted twice and we're now doing okay in the league so he deserved better. MUCH better. This has clearly been in the pipeline for some time and perhaps Cortese was expecting us to get spanked at Chelsea to make the decision look more understandable. It's disheartening and upsetting to see.

    However, almost as bad is the abuse being thrown at the new guy. Abuse Cortese by all means but the new manager is blameless here.

    Well this is the most bemusing sacking I have seen in quite some time. I really feel sorry for you Saints supporters and Adkins. He'd done a brilliant job and the football you lot have been playing lately has been encouraging. I just hope the players can carry on and get you clear of the relegation zone. Not heard of the new guy so I won't judge him yet. As for Adkins he should be able to get a decent job after seeing what he's achieved at Southampton.

    Along with Chris Hughton, this has to be the worst and most uncalled for sacking in the history of the premier league. Awful decision!

    Be best if the Everton game is off, because there will be idiots who instead of showing support for Adkins will do daft things like throw stuff on the pitch or running onto the pitch.
    We may not support Cortese in this, but we must support the players who will also be trying to come to terms with it.

    to all those fans who talk about responding the same way as Chelsea fans are a word of warning, look at there home record and there away record , we dont have the luxury of dropping our home record so for the teams sake we need to support the team even if we dont agree with decision Adkins has gone and for all the histrionics he will not be back so get behind new manager and team,plus can anyone if honest be really surprised knowing how NC dealt with Pardew and his comment about long term plans, im not

    Interesting how the Saints press release talks of rumours surrounding Pochettinho:
    "The Argentine was widely linked with a future role at one of Spain's top clubs, but having left Espanyol in November now joins Southampton to continue his top-flight managerial career."

    Hi guys safc fan in peace just wanted to say I'm in shock about the decision to sack Adkins you guys were just starting to pick up as far as football teams go you are far from being the worst in the prem and you have some good players at the club tbh nether thought you guys would go down so why get rid of him very strange anyway hope the rest of your season goes well
