Damn good manager, didn't deserve it. Crazy decision. I hope that he lands a top job (he deserves it) brings great success to his new team and shows Cortese what a foolish decision this was. Good luck Nigel, nothing but respect for you!
He could do a good job at Chelsea or any big club, such is the ability of the man. But it will never happen, sadly. It's a shame the England job isn't available.
Ha, if only! Most fans weren't sure when Pardew was sacked and Adkins took over but at least he had previous promotion winning form with Scunny. The way we were playing in the last few games under Pardew, it was clear that something wasn't right. It happened early, but you could see it coming. This one really baffles me as I can't see what Nigel has done wrong. All the very best to him in his future career and thanks for the good times. ****ed if we can fit Pochettino into a song either, so will be hard to get behind him.

No disrespect to Blackpool, but Nigel is already way past a provincial club. His next step should be up, not down. I bet there will be one or two sackings in other clubs following this. They'll all be making plans for Nigel [sorry, couldn't resist].
I have been watching Southampton FC now for 25 years, and I still believe we need to have a manager in place For the long term ie 10 years plus. Look at Man U, Arsenal, Everton I'm sure if Newcastle had given Sir Bobby Robson one more year they would have won it. I really thought we had finally got it right with Nigel and the future of the club! NC has taken one hell of a gamble this time, this is not L1 this is the prem the highest quality of league football in the world. This will either go very well or very bad. I think the chairman needs to come out with a bit more of a statement, you don't get much on the official web site now. The 5 year plan was to get to the prem? We are there and doing well - just to stay in the league would be an achievement. What's the next 5 year plan - we should be told as fans.
