Staggering decision - reinforces my view that the "Saints" have lost touch with reality and their status......
The difference between Southampton and Portsmouth is that the latter will launch their phoenix club first.
Yeah because it's the fans that sacked him. Why don't you read our board and find out that everyone is ****ing angry at the moment and no one agrees with the decision.
The first post. You going to tell me that SaintS plural is referring to anything other than our fans? Lost touch with reality and their status as well... It was obviously a dig all I'm saying is people need to lay off the fans it's not their fault.
Southampton are know as the Saints - plural - as in your name. Nobody here believes your fans were behind this - it is almost always the club owner and board who do these things - now calm down and you will find a lot of support for your fans if not for your owners - unless the rest of your fans approach us as you have
Probably. Name and nickname tend to be used interchangeably, particularly when the town or city name is quite long. Adkins' sacking has nothing to do with the fans. Although you don't help yourselves by coming across as over protective ****heads for no apparent reason
Saints = fans? How strange! Ah well, shame for the club anyway, ludicrous decision...already replaced though...how odd. Wonder what he did to deserve to be treated so badly.
To think how bad we felt for Sean - and he had only been here a while and was victim of a takeover - to sack someone who has led you to the Premiership and begun to get a handle on how to survive there - ludicrous - no wonder the fans are angry
Not quite H. 3Pochettino took charge of Espanyol at the age of 36 in January 2009, and managed a best finish of eighth in La Liga in 2010-11. He left the club by mutual consent at the end of November 2012, with an overall record of 49 wins from 146 league matches." This sacking of managers has just got plain silly now. I think that in Italy you can only change managers at the end of the season, which seems to have some merit, but doesn't actually work. Clubs simply put their manager on gardening leave and bring in a temporary coach.
Sorry TTSF, I didn't make myself very clear. Saints refers to the board/owner of the club and definitely not the fans who obviously are very angry. I am sure that most, if not all, Horns fans would agree that it is a very distasteful sacking.
Not sure what is more insane, the sacking, the appointment or the div Soton fan coming on here having a hissy fit...obviously having a couple of seasons in the Prem has gone to the heads of some of the poor little dears
Went to Uni in Southampton and like the area and city. However, wrong decision this one... Even Matt Le Tiss can tell that !!
Not sure why Saints fans are angry?? The man behind the sacking, Nicola Cortese, actually helped to save the club from administration (along with Markus Liebherr, who has since passed away), and provided the funds to get them promoted to the Premier League. When a man like that is in charge, he can do what he likes. Same happened at our club with the Pozzi's and Dyche. We've been quiet because Zola has done well. Same will happen at Saints. If the new manager wins games all dissent will stop. May not be the ideal way to run things but its how modern football goes. Clearly Cortese wants to get Southampton to a higher position in the league, maybe with ambitions for Europe, and he doesn't see Adkins as being capable of taking him there. Of course they could go down as well this season, still would leave the Saints in a better position than before Cortese took over at a time when they nearly hit the wall and were in League One. You can't have your cake and eat it!
