Pardew was a complete cock, was **** at training and not liked by a lot of players. Look at what he is now doing at Newcastle now?. Adkins is way above Pardew in every way.
Swans fan in peace - crazy decision. You were on a great run. Great result just now, and doing it with an entertaining brand of football. Sympathies.
Absolutely disgraceful from Cortese. After a poor start he turned it around, and on the back of what he's accomplished over the last couple of seasons he ought to be given the chance to continue to build. You could be 6 points clear of the relegation zone come Monday night. What does Cortese expect the first season back in the top flight? Constantly heard about how he's a great chairman etc, he's shown himself to be just as clueless and out of touch as the rest of them.
Feel sick just plain wrong from Nicola Cortese! How can he think this would be a good idea now in January when we are doing well. It will set us back and take weeks to get back to this form if at all.
Unless my feelings change over the next few days, I will be unable to get behind the new coach, such is the scale of my fury towards Cortese.
Le God, I'm going to miss him. I wish him the very, very best in his career. I hope he goes to a fantastic club because he deserves the best. Personally, it's incredibly disappointing. If there's one person I have a higher regard for than Nigel it's Nicola Cortese, but on the face of it, this looks ill-timed, although Nigel predicted it, some months ago. Time will tell and the journey continues. Today, I don't like Nicola much, but I'll get over it and realise that he knows what he's doing, and that sentiment is the worst kind of block to further success.
What an awful decision that is. Back to back promotions, now in the process of stabilsing the club in the PL, with only 2 defeats in 12 & off the back of a hard fought draw at the current European Champions - & he gets the sack??? Football is mad at times
Of course I am bearing the bigger picture in mind, the club is bigger than one person etc. etc., but at the moment I am feeling as though someone I love has died. As Saints fans we will get over this, but I agree with those who are asking "Why?" and "Why now?" The timing does seem particularly odd, given the fact that over the last 10 games we are something like 7th in the form table, and seem to be inching our way towards survival in the most difficult league in world football. There was a similar reaction to the sacking of Alan Pardew, but most people thought that we would get someone better to replace him. I can't imagine a better manager than Nigel Adkins. For all you have done, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I'm afraid I wouldn't mind seeing Saints relegated now just to highlight the monumental **** up Cortese has undertaken.
I agree with Chilco but I do think looking at some of Nigel's recent comments he knew this was coming! Timing makes no sebnsde but just maybe NC thought he would lose this new guy if he didn't move quickly. Time will tell if he was right.
Well, that blows the Vegard signing out of the water. I hope it doesn't also blow our young, English team structure out of the water, and mean we start buying in cheap Argentine and Spanish mediocrity. Will he get a transfer 'war chest' this window, I wonder?
