The state of the area outside the ground is also considered. A game at Arsenal was called off in the past because it was so treacherous outside the Emirates and on the roads. Sky maybe a tad concerned. Remember the game a Brum last season. It should have been called off but because it was on sky it was played. The pitch was just about playable so the referee could say game on but IMO it should have been postponed.
As I just posted on Beefs thread the Express say we should not have been allowed into the PL as we are the only club without heating!
Might be best if the game IS postponed due to weather. Emotions running high and if we lose the new manager is going to be under immediate pressure. As a Saints fan, I hope we win, I would have been a lot more comfortable if Nigel was running the team. Now, I don't know what to think.
I would still have hated it, but could understand if Cortese replaced Adkins in the summer citing the need to progress, but survival is what we need now. Adkins was the best manager to achieve that.
Yes, lets go back to being quiet little Saints, grubbing along at the bottom of the league, never threatening anyone.
Pieking. In NC's opinion thats what we would have had with Nigel. He wants more! I just pray he's not got it completely wrong!"
Players will adapt to having a new manager given time, if the booing etc is every game we are screwed. I doubt the Everton game will be on anyways.
Wasn't what I said. We are in a relegation battle and just getting out of it. Adkins could have managed that with our present team. In the summer, Cortese could have replaced him saying he wanted more progress. Would have been sad, but I would have understood it more.
That's largely what I meant. I was employing sarcasm. I see no reason to assume this is a wrong decison. We're just all wound up about it because Adkins is such a nice guy.
Can't really see the players being motivated by this decision. Sure if we were playing poorly a new bloke might turn things around, but we have been doing well with players performing near to their max. Not optimistic at all.
Downhill from here guys, starting with a defeat Monday. The decision of a despot, totally stunned and very angry.
