Wolverhampton have abandoned for today. Lingfield inspect at 11am and were raceable earlier this morning but the snow is starting to fall. Ascot are monitoring the situation (snowing since 8.15am accoring to the Clerk) and have called an inspection for 4.30pm
The snow has arrived here this morning, although it's not snowing at present. Puppies are having a great time.
Sorry, I missed the birthday announcement - Happy Birthday Red In other news, it's been announced that Denman will parade at Newbury on 9th February.
The Saturday League comp might be interesting tomorrow... We may all be picking from two cards, Lingfield and Kempton the way its going... The powers of a hot Ribena and a hot cross bun with lashings of butter... feel better now, though not brave enough to go out yet...
Morning all - happy birthday Red. I really cannot see them racing at Ascot tomorrow and wouldnlt be that surprised if lingfield was either called off or abandoned. I had an e-mail yesterday announcing that Madness will be playing at Sandown after racing on 17 July. They want £37 for it. Now I love racing and i also love Madness but the 2 combined are unlikely to be a House of Fun. I'll end up making an Embarrassment of myself, telling someone to shut Up and having a cardiac Arrest.
That's just what I was thinking, there may be a lot of similar scores, could be a nightmare sorting out the positions!!
Happy Birthday Red I'm off to sulk now, nothing to lose my money on at all today. Not looking good for football over the weekend either
Just casting our eyes forward to next week and towards the Skybet Chase at Doncaster, if its on that is ... One that i think has a good chance is Cape Tribulation... Currently a 14/1 shot in a open race but not one that he cant win. Won very cosily lto at Wetherby, over a 3m1f trip, on heavy ground, beating Mr Moonshine by 11 lengths. Won over hurdles at Cheltenham in the Pertemps last year, but looked every bit at home went sent chasing here at Wetherby. And if Jefferson can get him ready for this i think Cape Tribulation has a good chance of winning here next week. Has won on heavy, good and good to soft and has a good engine in him, finishing 14th last year in this race and that might help in the preparation for this race... They must think he can improve for the remaining months of the year as they have entries in the World Hurdle and Gold Cup. And although i dont think either will see Cape Trib win any of those two races i do think that reflects on how well they think of him and what they have in stall for this 9 year old in the future... No bet yet but i will be keeping my eye on the market next week in the run up to the meeting... I have to look at something, everything else is off today...
Can someone phone their kids' school and ask if the teachers put numbers on the kids' backs and get them running round the dinner hall. We have to have something to bet on!
Confirmed - Ascot is off Happy birthday Red If you are desperate Youcancallmejeff - Dundalk 19-50 Tortueuse ew - ran well CD LTO finishing a close up 5th beaten less than 3 lengths. 28-1 with Victor and Stan
So, on this wintry day something to warm the heart: please log in to view this image Scamp saved the life of six kitten stuck inside a box on a mountain of trash. Scamp heard them, tore the box apart and brought them one by one where he now happily lives. Scamp is a former homeless dog, and had only one thought: saving them as himself was saved once. Thank you Scamp! You are wonderful!
It's no coincidence that if you take the word "Dundalk", add a few letters and take away a few letters, you end up with "****e racing"
After a number of months analysis Appraiseform enters into Irish racing. Its proved a serious challenge and the formula is slightly different to the Appraiseform formula deployed for UK racing. In the event racing goes ahead at Naas tomorrow we have a top rated selection. I also have two for Lingfield tomorrow should the snow clear. Follow on Twitter @Appraiseform.
