I don't see that as a valid excuse.Newcastle were only charged £35 for a ticket last week.I paid £35 to go to Newcastle last season.
Fair enough. Sunderland only ever bring 1,500 to us but we took 2,800 up there before Xmas despite resentment v Rafa.
Again, when you came to Carrow Road you were given the same 2500 allocation as every club. The whole allocation was taken but about 600 were sent back unsold. No police issues as Newcastle were playing on Monday and this was a Sunday game.
I've seen Burnley and QPR take 6k for midweek night games, Forest and Macclesfield also have taken 6k for cup ties at the Bridge and that's just off the top of my head. I can't say I've ever known Sunderland to take 3k never mind double that. I'm not digging out Sunderlands support, it's brilliant and I remember you taking 3k to Pompey last time they were in the Prem for a midweek night game just before Christmas, but the suggestion that Sunderland take and sell out full allocation at every game is myopic.
we sold out our 5000+ allocation to Bolton. The same day as Newcastle were away to Brighton and surprise surprise, Newcastle sold their allocation. hmmm how curious.
I like how you're ignoring any posts with evidence backing up the argument that you don't sell all your ticket allocation.
Yes that completely proves everyone wrong. Pat on the back for you. Or maybe that's a completely irrelevant point digging you deeper into this hole of stupidity.
Sunderland brought 1702 to the Etihad out of the 2985 seats available in this seasons fixture All the bigger clubs like spurs, arsenal, man Utd,Everton etc brought over 2500
Sunderland did not even come close to reaching the away allocation at St Marys this season , many teams have had more fans at Saints this season , some by a long way ! and its rubbish to say that sunderland would be given an allocation say under 1000 less than another away team . Dreamer
At St Marys, it looked like half the number of the usual away allocation turned up for Sunderland.. Was on par with the Wigans, Boltons and Blackburns to be honest. And the reason stamford bridge rarely sells all the away end is that you want £50 for Chelsea vs Saints on a wednesday in January! Possibly the biggest ever rip off, if you include London's ridiculous travel prices and how busy itll be in rush hour! WASTE OF MONIES!
Apart from United and Liverpool that have swathes of Southern gloryhunters up and down the M25 and the London clubs I'd never blame any club for not selling out the Bridge. Rip off tickets and travel to London is expensive enough as it is, not to mention London prices. Your already looking at a bare minimum of £100 per head, not justifiable at all.
You idiot! We do not sell out every away game at all. Check online right this second and you will see tickets for Wigan away are on general sale now and that will not sell out. Our support is very good, we average 40k+ at home and have an average away following in this league. You have just give people ammunition to shout us down and make out we are terrible and worse then we are. A Southampton fan has even made fun of us ffs. Dick!
To be fair we are much better then the likes of Wigan, I'm assuming you just said that to shut him up for being a big mouth.
Can't have been many Saints fans at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night as it was Chelsea's smallest crowd in 5 years.
Actually I think you'll find it was us that didn't sell all the tickets. Ha Ha. Maybe it had something to do with Rafa and maybe it had something to do with being announced less than 14 days before it was played. A little of both probably. Our next 3 home games have sold out already so it's hard to know. Hope that helps.
