He might be a good manager. He might even be a very good manager. This would still be a stupid, unnecessary risk at a time when we're starting to look pretty comfortable.

Exactly so NC would only do this if something major had happened. He's not stupid!

Can't believe we have to wait 3 hours to see who is at that press conference. I hate you John Cross!

On a serious note, if Cortese does this he will never live it down. It could be the biggest mistake of his life. Supporters will be furious.

It's not the twitter rumour that got me sweating, I didn't believe it until Balague it that tweet out about one of his friends giving him great news and being a clever replacement. With his connections to Espanyol it mmakes it very worrying.

To be honest if we were looking for a new manager he would definitely fit the bill. He is well known for giving youngsters a chance and takes a keen interest in the youth academy. He was a very highly rated manager in his first two seasons with Espanyol finishing quite comfortable and at the midway stage of his second year he was actually around the champions league places. But because of £150 million debts they were forced to sell there better players.

It may just be a coincidence but when you look at some of the players we are supposed to have enquired about recently there could be something in it. We have been linked with Coutinho who I think I'm right in saying was on loan with Espanyol last year. We have also been linked with Ricardo Alvarez and Mauro Zarate who are both also from Argentina.

I sincerely hope that it is just a rumour because I think we have just started to find our feet in this league and am confident of staying up. By bringing a new manager in now it could have a negative effect our chances of survival.

This is bigger than football...it's Nigel Adkins! Pochettino might have the requisite insanity, but he doesn't look like the sort that one rushes out to form a cult of personality around.

Not possible to take it too seriously. Saints can decide my mood all week. Chelsea match cheered me up nicely, now I am as low as a short snake.

Many people thought the same when Pardew went...

It's not just a 'twitter rumour' though, it's in several papers and the tweet in question (if it is even about this) is from a journalist, and close friend of Pochettino.

Fans will certainly be furious...flowers left in the snow and all that. However, we aren't as daft as Chelsea fans who seem to want their team to fail. The fact is that Adkins deserves this and has turned the team round...proving that he is growing as a manager. He won't be unemployed for long...a few managers will be looking to their backs if he becomes available. Losing Adkins will take some of the joy out of Saints.

Reports suggesting he's gone... incomprehensible. You lot could still stay up, you have been on a great run. It doesn't have to change.

We cannot bring in a foreign coach who speaks little or no english. I had enough trouble understanding Wee Gordon Strachan!
