Tony Barrett of The Times saying we are interested in Sneijder but he would have to take a wage cut of about a third http://lfc.pl/files/pdf/2013_01_18_times.jpg Also the Echo too now http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/live...jder-if-he-agrees-to-pay-cut-100252-32626898/
TBH I am think this could be a good move. We need experience in attack and we need a top attacking midfielder. We have Suso for the future. I have thought that signing Isco and Erikson could be bad for Suso. This wont be. Sneijder could work great with players like Gerrard, Suarez and Sturridge.
This man comes with a lot of baggage. Admittedly so did Suarez. However, he could be a very good acquisition for us both on the field itself, for our youngsters and as a reminder to other clubs that we are not just a relic of history. Those hoped-for outcomes could only happen if the player himself is prepared to take them on board. If not then let him go and earn his corn elsewhere.
look i don't think anyone can deny this guy is the one and only truely world class talent thats going this window. Christian erkisen is IMO also world class but is not available. I won't say that just cos this is a wolrd class talent that he might not be just past it nor that he's fit nor would i say that he's al lthat nice a guy form all accounts. However... if nobody else like city for example or even the spuds are willling to pay his asking fee and he'd come to us we'd have to think hard about it... by that i mean seriously consider it. BTW.. isco and eriksen... thats way out of our budget and theres a lot of competition for them. I just don't know... i mean we need to consider how he fits in and what happens then. 1. formation... 2. fit with gerrard 3. who goes? shelvey? henderson? we can't keep all of them with this guy can we? finally..... 4. is this seriously on? 8mil for a player worth 30-40mil?
Well it worked the other way round with Torres and Carroll and will look as silly when those 2 are moved-on.
Before tax hes on £200k a week at Inter, they are desperate get him off the wage bill Gala have offered 100k a week after tax,to match we would need to offer £180k a week before tax, he will accept less its just a question of how much,if we do manage to get him to say I will accept less, other PL teams may then become interested. The transfer fee Gala have agreed is about £6.3m, lower than what Blackpool want for Ince Also some people are saying, the LFC board have leaked they are interested when we really arnt, to get the fans off there backs, who are starting to say FSG wont stump up the cash for a big player
I think Belhanda who may move this window would be better option, perhaps fee of £12m, with £50k a week wages
The fact that the Echo, Tony Barrett and Dominic King are reporting must indicate that there is a definite interest in the player. Please be true!!
The fact that we got Carroll for £35m, Downing for £20m and Allen + Henderson for about £15m, means we won't be signing him. He's not young enough, English enough and useless enough for us to spend a ridiculous amount on.
LFC will buy Sneijder if he reduces his wage demands to their level. Will also pay up to 50p for Messi and exchange Ronaldo for Downing. Suarez &Gerrard question transfer policy....few days later Ayre defends club & apparent interest in Sneijder is released to media .Personally think club has used media on the Sneijder story just to appease fans after Gerrard/Suarez quotes. Smells Very Fishy........................
In fairness who wouldn't be interested if he agreed to take a huge wage cut & could be bought for £6.3M?
It's like the fit girl at school fancying a less popular boy, same with sneijder now, suddenly the suspicions rise and it's all "why so cheap? why Liverpool? why's no one else interested? is he damaged goods??" he would waltz in to our starting XI and would be a great addition. He's leaving Inter as he's fallen out with the boss and with his last major phase in his career wants to come to the best league in the world. Rodgers should get his wallet out. A team like below would be better than the team we had under Rafa imo, and it's been a long time coming. All fit it would be: ------------------------Reina------- Jonhnson-----Skrtel------Agger-------Enrique -----------------------Lucas---------------- ------------Gerrard------Sneijder------------------ Suarez----------Sturridge------Borini/Sterling-
I'd be happy to see it happen if we stick to this. However, happy doesn't really cover it I suspect the it is media bulltwat too
Couldn't decide whether to call it bullshit or the media twats, opted to invent a word Just sat at desk for now, easy days for me, the person that sits next to me (the only person that can see my screen) doesn't work Friday's
