http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...nd-transfers-danny-graham-a-newcastle-1542470 Whatever the arguments for or against, the simple fact of the matter is this is going to completely over shadow this transfer and his entire time here if he did sign. Its something that will fester amongst fans but would be suppressed if he scored, only to raise its head the very second he stopped. He has made a huge rod for his own back and his time here will not end well imo. This is a massive stick which will be used to hit him with the very second he has a poor game. If its in 10 weeks time he will be finished here before the season ends. This is the first national newspaper article and you an rest assured it wont die down.
C'mon Cest, time to move on! First goal he scores in red and white and this is all yesterday's old news.
This will only be an issue when he signs. And then only when he starts playing. Personally, I think he'd be a handy player to have here. Whilst I can't argue with the "Chopra choke" aspect, you have to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Albert be honest. If this was roles reversed and a Sunderland supporting player had said this about your lot, how welcome would his potential signing be amongst your brethren? All just good natured banter or dirty mackem bastard?
Nowt wrong with being a proud geordie Cest or indeed a proud nufc fan. Like you say though, it can & will be used as a stick. I don't want him at my club anymore than he want's to be here, more due to the fact that I think he's **** than owt else. We've been bitten once ower many times marra.
Me move on? This is in tomorrows Daily Mirror pal, its not my doing and it wont be the first broadsheet to reprint this story either. First bad game or **** up in the derby and it will be back on the front pages. That's the problem he is going to have. Blind eyes will be turned so long as he is doing well but one bad game and the crowd will use him as a scapegoat. You can paper over this issue if you will but that doesn't mean it will be going away anytime soon.
We should be talking about players that will improve us and yet this IS THE story behind the headlines. Its a distraction we could do without imo and is avoidable. I do rate the player personally but that is a side issue now. The papers will be following him round every second up here, waiting for the next Lee Clarke moment to unfold. I wouldn't like to work under that pressure and its going to effect his play imo. He could score 15 goals in the next 15 games but the second he is secretly recorded or photographed taking the piss out of us (probably out with his family or friends in Newcastle one night) that will become the headline again. I think this will end in floods of tears personally.
Deffo one of cests like! It goes to show he's not only fighting against the crowd he's got the media aswel! I feel a rocky tune coming on!
