I'm a Forest fan who feels a great deal of warmth towards Norwich. I've seen we'll over a 100 matches at Carrow road, due to my city mad wife. When we were taken over by foreign owners I hoped that they would be sensible and not hire and fire at a drop of a hat. No such luck, our new owners are presently making the venkies look like fit and proper owners. When you started the season slowly your board came out and said that they were happy and had every confidence they would still be in the division come the end of the season. We start not badly and have consistently been close to the play offs. So how come were on manager number 3 and other back room staff have been fired this week! Could you get Delia to have a word and put them on the right track? Good luck for the rest of the season and in your search for a striker.
Sometimes the buy out of clubs can be done for all the wrong reasons. (Sleeping giant springs to mind - truer of Forest than most clubs in that division) Or end up (Blackburn) not as the new owners had visualised the script. A Leeds fan said to me a couple of days ago "you (NCFC) got a cook, we got a crook" Delia may not be everyone's cup of tea, but she loves and values this club as much/more than anyone
Not being funny but it's not going to happen overnight. It's taken five years for things to start to gel at Ipswich. You don't want the Norwich board, they wouldn't know ambition if Felix Baumgartner landed in the middle of the Carrow Road centre circle.
Your missing the point. I'm talking about building slowly it was ludicrous to sack a manager before the start of the season, especially one which had got us out of the huge hole we were in when Maclaren left. Also Norwich city football club and their fans do have ambition but know progress is a slow process without a billionaire owner.
Pathetic post, Hampy - and you know it. Having suffered the inadequacies of Keane and Jewell - and still in danger of being dragged into the bottom three, would you really prefer Clegg to McNally? No, I thought not
All this stomping and shouting Ipswich fans seem to do on the Norwich part of this site would be better directed to creating some noise at portman rd. Your the quietest home fans I've ever come across.
I do wonder who is running Forest. They have just sacked their CEO and a couple of others. I note they are reportedly interested in a Kuwaiti goalkeeper. Funny that. I bet McLeish isn't interested in him. I'm not denegrating any footballer from any country but it does smack of a Kuwaiti businessman fancying himself at running a football club and buying the players.
i find what is happening at blackburn and forest distressing. i think we might also see something similar happen at leeds in the near future.
The difference between Blackburn and Leeds and Forest is that Blackburn and Forest are both proud clubs with a great tradition. Peterrinho you're forgetting how enraged all the Norwich fans were (and how bitter they still are) about Lambert's sacking. I would take Clegg over McNally any day of the week. Let's hope at least one of these strikers comes off, Norwich are in dire need of fire power.
I've just spat my coffee all over my keyboard How are your lovely newly painted turnstiles coping with the inclement weather hampy
I don't know how they've done it at Norwich , but I know the swans are owned by swans fans, every single one of the directors are supporters. Also the club is 20% owned by the supporters trust and they have a direct say in how the club is run. We are also in partnership with the local authority with the liberty stadium. It takes hard work and people who have the club at heart, I wouldn't change a thing to do with our setup or the way they run things, you ask almost any swans are they happy and you'll get a resounding yes. Best of luck OP with your club I like Forest and your fans, I always look out for your results and wonder if you'll make it this year. Norwich don't need any more luck they are a properly run club already.
Still not a clue what ur going on about yorkie... You would swap your board with ours any day of the week to be in our position and Im sure most ipswich fans would. If you forgot about rivalry for a minute it would make sense....I think a lot of championship clubs would.
To be serious and off the wind up, I wouldn't swap boards or anything else. The only difference between the two clubs at the moment is that Norwich got a lucky break a few years ago. I am over the moon with what's happening at Town at the moment and we have one of the very best running the Academy now. I think you'd be a good move for Graham. He will be a big fish in a small pond again and I think that'll suit him better. £5m is a bit low though IMO.
Yorkie, how can you say Leeds don't have pride and tradition? In the last 50 years they have won far more than Blackburn or Forest. Just because they have some of the most detestable supporters breathing, you can't dismiss what a big club they were and could still be. We at Norwich say grace before every game because we taken what we are given and say thank you. No airs and graces with us and no massive expectations, us enjoying our days in the sun.
yorkie, seriously, what the hell are you on about? lambert was not sacked. what about leeds tradition? mcnally has transformed a club on its knees to one who is debt-free and riding high whilst clegg has taken a team on the verge of promotion and dragged it to the very bottom of the championship. and we are not in dire need of a striker. a new striker would be a big plus but it is not absolutely essential to our survival. both norwich and swansea are being run superbly - anyone who thinks otherwise is completely blind while ipswich have accumulated a £66m debt and only just appointed a manager who has any knowhow whatsoever. but then you're deluded and bitter. not a great combination if you're trying to be impartial.
