If we revert to 442 who's playing at left back? Daws will get a new arsehole torn out most weeks in the Championship. Great servant and top bloke but time stands still for no man and his legs have pretty much gone.
I would have thought it would be easier to bring in a capable left back on loan, than trying to get someone capable of playing wing back, unless we are indeed signing them permanently. Maybe Fulham can actually do us a favour by dumping Man U out in the 4th round and we can go in for Buttner for the rest of the season??? (tongue firmly in cheek)
Not necessarily Lewis....when **** like this happens ,it can often make a team a more stronger & more united outfit TBF. I mean how many times have we seen a team reduced to ten men win games when they are up against it ?
This link suggests the recall of Elmo is likely to be temporary and is probably just MON posturing in hope of getting a fee. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...-return-set-to-be-short-lived-72703-32618943/
Journalist from the Sunderland Echo... Chris Young ‏@YoungSunEcho Told that Elmohamady won't be going anywhere except back to hull. Not likely to go anywhere until MoN can bring in new players though #safc
The FA might give permission, he's only actually played twenty one minutes of football for Sunderland this season.
That really is the crux of it - Sunderland are short of players and he belongs to them. Every confidence he'll be back - Mr Allam, I'm sure, would be very loathe to let this particular player slip away.
While this is true it establishes a precedent that will lead to more clubs asking for exceptions, waivers. I think they are better served by sticking with the rule and not allowing exceptions.
I think this is going to turn into a waiting game to be honest until O'Neill manages to bring in some players or we make a permanent offer. Until then we're stuck with having next to no threat whatsoever on the right hand side.
It's worrying when you think the majority of our goals have come from the right hand side and Elmo and Aluko have been directly involved with possibly half of them. As things stand we won't be without either for a large chunk of the season.
Spot on in every respect, with the exception of Evans. Can'! fault his effort, but his contribution in terms of quality contribution is not good enough.
My first choice would be to get Elmo back, but if we can't I'd like to see us try and get John Brayford from Derby.
He will if he' s needed and after the cup game, that's probable! You don't box then? No! Route one and left using Quinn it is then! Easy game this!
