I too have lost all confidence in our board. We knew what we needed long before the transfer window opened and some clubs were in there day one tying up players ( Liverpool ). I think the push for Debuchy only happened because Simpson got injured otherwise we'd have waited even longer for a replacement.
I think we are more likely to ship more out than get in and I see in todays Daily Mail it says Newcastle await Milans offer for Krul. Believe me if it's more than £10million, he's a gonna.:emoticon-0107-sweat:

Yes, we'll get a Forward and a CB in... I'm eternally optimistic - which is why I end up disappointed so often....

    Just seen this:

    http://tyneandwear.sky.com/newcastleunited/video/53146

Now I know he keeps getting criticised for the statements he makes, but surely this is as good as a guy in his position can come out with?

He'll be disappointed too, but you have got to tow a professional club line as much as possible and certainly NOT give the impression we're in desperate dire straits for players. No matter what his private fears are, publicly you have to VERY careful – especially with a southern media that are hell bent on taking NUFC statements or news and making it as negative as possible.

We'd be foolish to just spend for spendings sake and Pardew has no say over how much is thrown at deals.

There's too much of this Championship Manager fantasy football mentality from a lot of supporters and that's why they aren't the chairman or manager of a football club.

We need players YES, the right players that will make a genuine impact YES and I want to see that as much as everybody. There just needs to be a bit more pragmatism and realism over it...

On the last day David Craig will come on TV and say NUFC invited him to their training ground. He will tell us that he has seen LLambias, Ashley and Pardew with furrowed browes and mobile's in hand. Then at 11 55 he will tell us NUFC missed out on all their targets but they tried hard, then he will go home pour a huge whiskey and nearly die through laughing. That's how confident I am we will get new playrs in. Hope I'm wrong.

While I'm not confident we will get players in, people shouldn't be confident we won't.

We signed Debuchy. Except for QPR offering him double our wages, we would have signed Remy. That doesn't look like the actions of a bunchof people who are pretending to try to sign players.

Things have gone quiet now, but they were quiet last year 24 hours before Cisse signed.

The fact we were all mucked about last window doesn't necessarilly mean we're being mucked about now.

Spot on. The cynics could well have a point at the end of the month, but not yet.

A healthy dose of pessimism is a requirement for seasoned Newcastle fans, but such is the reflex to suspect foul play and sinister activity at every turn it defies logic.

This regime HAS bought players and its judgment hasn't been too bad when it comes to selling and replacing. We just tend to conveniently forget the positive moves they have made in favour of ALL the bad.

As fans we're desperate for some good news at the moment, I get that and I'm the same. But you have to hold your nerve a bit, we were spoilt last season (god knows we deserve it) and now's time to dig in.

The most important players for NUFC are the ones ALREADY at the club and with a couple of sensible additions, returning injured and some confidence we'll be ok...

    On a scale of 1 to 10.

My needle is wavering just above the one point. The Newcastle fire is starting now; in fact a free centre back with every DFS sofa.

On the other hand, on the same scale of 1 to 10, my DeffoCertoMeter rating is over 9s that this club won't go anywhere under Ashley.

Just wanted to bump this to remind everyone what we thought a little while ago! This week has been fantastic ...

Shame Kathmandu isn't around to explain how he got it so wrong when he's apparently always right... ;-)

I was dreaming off 2 good signing. We have 3 very good and 2 good. Best transfer period under mike ashley so far. Bit of excitement and tension for places is exactly what St james's park needed.

Amazing window for us. You'd be crazy to think otherwise. I'm still hoping for one marquee striker but I can't see it after this little bonanza.

Why the hell is there no transfer news today? What are the club playing at?
We've gone more than 24 hours without a single signing and it's making me angry.

Oh dear, it seems I have developed a new addiction.

It would be ideal but even as a Mr Negative you simply can't whinge about our business. They've given Pardew every chance and more than any of us thought.

Mr realistic I prefer, yep credit were its due I stated a few weeks ago its what we do in the window which is as important as on the field, pardew will not have a leg to stand on if we fail, still frustrated we did not do this in the summer however if all goes well then this summer we will not need to go over the top with signings
Allowing us a great amount of time to blend together. Still need a top forward IMO but on the flip side less chance of Williamson ruining weekends going forward
