LUIS SUAREZ has admitted diving for Liverpool to try and help them win a game. The Uruguayan took a tumble in the box against Stoke in Octoberâs goalless draw at Anfield. Potters boss Tony Pulis labelled Suarez an âembarrassmentâ and called for a retrospective three-match ban. Now the Reds hitman has finally come clean as he said: âI don't listen to all the nonsense some people say about me. "I'm accused of cheating here. People say I throw myself all the time inside the box. "They said that when we played against Stoke, for instance, and in that case they were right. I invented a foul because we were drawing and I wanted to win. "Sometimes on the pitch I say to myself, âWhat have I done?' But the name of Suarez sells papers." Suarez, 25, caused outrage again this month after handballing Liverpoolâs winner against non-league Mansfield in the FA Cup. But he insists the incident was not deliberate and reckons criticism was not deserved. Suarez said: âI touched the ball with my hand accidentally, and I was criticised because I kissed my hand. "The media make up a lot of things about me because they want to sell papers. I say to the media â you should talk more about football, not about other stuff.â Suarez also believes he is unfairly targeted because he is South American and says the media is biased towards Manchester United. Speaking to Fox Sports Argentina, he added: âWhen someone comes and says to me something bad about being a South American, I don't cry, because that happens inside the pitch. "I have my conscience clean. But as I have said, Manchester United controls the media, they are powerful and the media will always help them. "It's complicated to play here in England. As Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero have said, it's complicated for a South American footballer to be here as we are treated differently to the local footballers." Speaking to Fox Sports Argentina, he added: âWhen someone comes and says to me something bad about being a South American, I don't cry, because that happens inside the pitch. LUIS SUAREZ has admitted diving for Liverpool to try and help them win a game. What next? The pope admits he's catholic? Scientists discover bears do s**t in the woods?
Surprise surprise. But even more infuriating was Gareth Bale saying a couple of weeks ago that he was "entitled to go down because I felt contact". I'm sorry but has someone rewritten the rules of the game while I was out? This magic word "contact" that pundits, managers and players keep using now is the biggest con to have come into the game since the actual act of diving/cheating wormed its way in. It suggests that any sort of contact (God I hate that word!) with an opposing player is illegal. So when did this happen? When did Soccer become a non-contact sport? And why weren't we told about this big rule change?

Yes, it should have been a FK the opposite way, Saints won at Villa with a blatant dive and theyve been doing it all season, especially Lallana. Its annoying when a club can pick up an extra 5-10 points through cheating.
In the words of DIO Holy Diver! Seriously though, I've totally changed my mind about him. Couldn't stand him last season but slowly he's turned me around. You get what you deserve I suppose (re reputation of diving), he still does it but a lot less than before. There are some much worse cases out there and they are mainly British. But since he's South American the British media have made him the scapegoat and as he says, Luis Suarez sells papers. For me he is in the top three players in the league and probably then one I enjoy the most watching play (behind Taarabt of course).
But he is also one of the best players we have in the league. Its hard to accept, but I would sooner have a Suarez over your more rugged and honest players such as Charlie Adam or Victor Anichibe (purely random decent players who are not exactly easy on the eye all the time) as he is a fantastic talent and always watchable. I think his attitude has actually been pretty good since all the talk about him has come up. He's got on with his game and improved as a player, just like Ronaldo did when the press was all on his back over his diving antics. This is the first I have heard of him talking to the press etc etc. The diving is a joke and players need to be retrospectively punished for it, but I'd rather that than hound all the top class players out of the EPL who the press decide to jump on, so its up to UEFA or FIFA to sort this out. What happened with the whole Eduardo Affair? He was retrospectively banned for a dive (which actually wasnt as bad as made out) and he was the only one. So easy to do, I have no idea why we dont have a panel for these sort of things I know its a touchy subject with Suarez because of all the allegations etc etc and I am by no means a Suarez fan at all, but Id rather have excellent footballers in the prem than out.
If only the opposite sex had his kind of attitude, the world would be a much happier place. Probably be less wars as well........ ;-)
Not wanting to have a bloke go down on you doesnt mean youre a homophobe, its a stupid term anyway as people clearly arent afraid of them which is what a phobia is. Im pretty sure every straight guy wouldnt want that.
There are some people out there who fear gay people, so the term isn't that stupid. And I'm not going get deep into a debate over word play on a harmless throw away joke. Lighten up flyer.....
We can hardly pass comment when we have Mbia in our side - haven't seen a worse diver for a long time!
