Sturridge made a very positive impact, changed the shape of the game. Not sure if you watched it, but he did. Hopefully with a little form he'll bury chances like the one to make it 2-2.
Just WHAT do you expect to change Rev? He'll do the same for you as he did for Chelsea which was miss sitters. How much do players change when they change clubs? Not a lot. No need to be facetious is there?
I reckon Sturridge is being groomed as Goofy's replacement. He already knows how to miss barn-doors, of course, so it's merely the diving, hand-balling, and casual racism that he needs to get to grips with, and he'll be sorted.
I expected Sturridge to be a good foil for Suarez and it appears to be the case. Knowing Rodgers, it won't take him long to either balls it up or damage his confidence badly, though. Anyone heard Utd's new tune for everyone's favourite Uruguayan?
He's never been given a chance to play as a striker consistently apart from at Bolton. Once he plays there for a few games we'll see how clinical he is.
The jury is still out on Sturridge, to be fair to him hes had a good start so we can't laugh at the scousers for signing him yet. After watching the game yesterday i thought Liverpool waste way to much time and opportunity dicking around with the ball in there half. Manchester United tended to go for it, if we lost it ohwel get it back have another go.
I remember them doing that in the Roy Evans era, passing it between themselves for bloody ages in their own half - and as soon as they pass it forward into the other half, they invariably gave the ball away.
Liverpool haven't beaten any team above them this season. They are 24 points off the top in January. They rely very heavily on the ageing Gerrard and Suarez (who must aspire to play for a club likely to win honours, where Spanish is spoken?). There doesn't appear to be a great lot to be optimistic about does there?
I don't know how you show form after about an hour of game time, but he has scored in every game he has played and isn't even match fit. I'll take that "form".
Can't blame him for the defeat! He came on as a sub and scored, not much more you can ask/expect of a striker.
Yea that's very true. Our build up is incredibly slow and allows the opposition so much time to reshuffle their defence and close us down. The only time we tend to score is set-pieces and the occasional rapid counter, which should show you that slow build-up play isn't always the best way to win a game. Unless you're as good as barca
Sturridge the ego. He will fall out with Suarez soon enough. Suarez thê racist. He will fall out with Sturridge soon enough.
I wonder how Sturridge will react if one of his team mates shouts "oi, negro, pass the ball"...as I remember some people saying negro was acceptable, lets see how "acceptable" it really is, now is the time to test it.
My Partner's Black, which is what they prefer to be called, but Negro is acceptable to her,it's the other N word she say's is totally unacceptable, any White person using that is insulting a black person.
