No tell them you like to prepare and if I understood correctly that you felt you couldn't prepare enough for this one.

    Don't stress my man.

Don't over think it and act on your instincts. Your rationale is more important than your decisions.

http://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/newTMM_75.htm - read this, a guide on how to set up an in-tray exercise for employers - helps to see it from the other side, and what they are looking for.

    http://www.assessmentday.co.uk/in-tray-exercise.htm#freeTests - free practice test

There's a load of pretty good videos on youtube too.

Oh, well.... I'm not sure. Tbh with e-tray assessment's you can't prepare because you can't know what the scenerio is in advance so if they use that form of assessment, they can't really change that. I'm not sure saying I like to prepare would help though, it might make it sound like I'm not good at dealing with unexpected things or something.

Never criticise a company until you are in, then you are free to gripe for England.

Oh, I wasn't griping. The company seem pretty interesting and to be fair, e-trays do seem quite interesting. But haaaard.

    Thanks for the links, Downthe36

    Morning all

Looking for some advice - am thinking of moving closer to Southampton and wondered what Chandlers Ford and Estleigh were like as places to live - any comments/suggestions...

    Much appreciated!

... or it'll make you seem really thorough and reliable. You come across with a glass half empty on here (I'll leave the Pompey fan gags) and remember there is always a flip side to any negative thought or comment. A lot will depend on the job and company you are going to.

    "Positivity breeds positivity."

"The only thing you can change is your attitude."

can you tell I'm a Saints fan? On the wall in the home dressing room at St Mary's is this:

"DISCIPLINE ... is the refining fire by which talent becomes ability" - show them you have the discipline.

This is also on that same dressing room wall...

"ONE IMPORTANT KEY TO SUCCESS IS SELF-CONFIDENCE.

AN IMPORTANT KEY TO SELF-CONFIDENCE IS PREPERATION"

Hasn't done us too bad has it Lapras ... Good Luck.

Both have their good and bad. Of course as usual, it largely depends on how much you can afford. Chandler's Ford certainly has its nice area, and incidentally, a few Saints players have lived there in the past. Consider Chilworth as well, if you can run to it, on the very outskirts of the City.

    It's snowing! Not settling though.

In other news I didn't get the job that I interviewed for yesterday. I'm extremely disappointed because it seemed like my perfect job and I was excited about the prospect of working there. But they were impressed with me and it was just a case of a more experienced candidate getting the job. Apparently the first time in 8 years they have had a candidate with such extensive surveying experience apply. Keep on searching I guess :emoticon-0120-doh:
