Considering our last 5 league games have been away trips to Fulham, Stoke, Villa and Chelsea with a tough home game against Arsenal sandwiched in between, I think it's ****ing incredible that we've escaped that run of fixtures unbeaten with 7 points.
Just how does Nigel do it, hey? Wrote of by the world, slagged off by some of his own tonight, players missing, & yet he still gets a top notch spirited performance & a point from the Bridge. Well done Sir.
So we get a damn good result, and texters on Solent still want players to be kicked out? Pathetic, Moronic, Stupid
Well that was a rather pleasant experience if I do say so myself. Been absolutely shattered all evening, 2-0 down at half-time with few signs of life I really considered going to bed, decided I'd battle through and keep watching and my faith was rewarded! Cracking goal from Punch, great from Rickie too. Sheer desire and grit got us that in the end, I said a couple days ago that too often when we are winning games we are the ones who crumble under the pressure of holding the lead rather than our opposition from being behind, but today Chelsea crumbled and we kept fighting, top effort.
Yes, fantastic come back, Ricky has so much class, his presence up front rattles defences and will always make chances. Watched the feed from here in the States at work, trying to hide my excitment from fellow workers. Think the team that finished should start v Everton. Just imagin where what we can do when Adam is back. We are starting to gel as a force to be taken seriously.
Couldn't agree more. We also looked less panicky at the end when trying to hang on, our passes seemed to find each other a lot more. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Feel like singing
What is important about this point is that it is hugely unlikely that we will be in the bottom 3 when we play Everton due to our superior goal difference.
That's amazing! 4 away games and a ridiculously hard home game is a fantastic result even more so when you realise that it was without our captain and the past 2 without our first choice CB. Even more so considering it was the christmas period when things get really difficult and small squads like ours are stretched.
Well, anyone who says that Adkins hasn't a clue tactically now needs to revise their opinion. Bloody masterstroke getting Guly, Rodriguez etc... to take the edge off the Chelsea Defenders, so that a fresh Lambert and Ramirez could have a go at them. And, of course, there's always Puncheon for the unpredictable.
