Man oh man... if only we had a striker who knows how to score in-front of the goal. <whistle>

I reckon Arshavin would WALK through that defence.

But i guess we will see another 45 of us trying to go around it.

Half time positives: Vermaelen, Gibbs, Wilshere
Half time negatives: Giroud, Walcott, Diaby, Cazorla.
    The rest are average.

Starting to turn on Giroud now. He's looking slow, ponderous, clumsy, unwilling to shoot, and wasteful when he does shoot.
Walcott is reminding me of how he was a couple of years ago.
Diaby is reminding of how he is 90% of the time: far too casual and uninvolved; slowing the game down too much.
Cazorla isn't working on the left because he's still playing like a midfielder. He needs to be in the attack, not sitting back.

I know things go in cycles but I never expected to see an Arsenal side this average back around so soon, its going to take more than money to fix this.:steam:

If this goes to extra time it would be the worst thing for both teams - even more fatigue.

Fortunately Wenger made a couple of fantastic early signings in the Transfer Window to ensure that isn't a factor in the quest for 4th, and having that talent brought in has really lifted the rest of the players :) Even though Arsenal are 6 points off 4th place, I'm confident they'll pick it up once those new guys get going. They really were astute moves by Le Prof!!

    Said no-one ever...

Fairly boring first half. Tempo is pretty slow and not particularly direct from either team.

Arsenal the better team in the half but neither looking like scoring other than the Bartley header and Vermaelen shot.

Coq's passing needs to improve - he is trying to create something, which is good, but he needs to give away posession less.

Wilshere is once again the best player on the pitch for us today.

We still look very average, and hardly look like a team that can challenge the big boys.

what happened to the Arsenal ?

what is this collection of players we are watching ?

    Is it The Arsenal ?

We used to dominate , intimidate.

Now we pass , and procrastinate.

    welcome to Arsenal Lite .

Everyone feeling doom and gloom at 0-0 at half time!

Despite us not exactly having a cutting edge we have not been poor at all. Just too slow and comfortable, need to up the tempo and be more direct.

It is worth noting that this Swansea team are very comfortable on the ball and can move it around very well. I think both teams are very wary of how the other team can move the ball and so it is a cautious approach. The second half will see it liven up im sure.

Half time or no half time, we expect our team to play well, just because it's the first half doesn't mean you play average. Those fans at the stadium don't show up expecting a nothing first half just to (hopefully) see things liven up in the second half, their paying for NINETY minutes of play.

The thing is, even if we score, a 1 goal lead isn't enough anymore.
