Totally yes. Just seems absolute madness and yet another repeat of the lesson we have continually failed to learn since we first got relegated from the Premiership. Crazy times but ever hopeful ....
At the end of the day we have a wage cap of 50k a week and we're not gonna break that by so much to sign anyone. Clubs like yours will always have an advantage over us, but at least we'll be financially secure in the future.
Couldn't agree more Tash...Norwich have an obscenely low wage cap of £15k/week. Trying to attract players who will play for that amount is getting increasingly difficult. Debt free at the end of the season, so I'm a happy fan! I suspect Barton had a word in Remy's ear while at Marseille and probably scared him off from going to Newcastle (he did after all get his contract terminated by them!).
That's what opposition fans always fail to realise. We are more like man city who have the money than a team borrowing and banking on future success like Leeds and. Portsmouth did. In fact we are probably more secure than city as we have two sets of owners, Mittal and the Fernandes group.
before someone starts to post remy's tweets: QPR FC ‏@OfficialQPR RT! Our new signing Loic Remy is NOT on Twitter! #QPR
Very happy and positive about this!! I won't go overboard with glee until he's played a few games though- we've had a few too many false dawns with signings lately. Fingers crossed he does the business though
Same here. Cant wait to see him play but a 4 and a half year contract on £70k a week. Its like a souped up Rowan Vine! Could be a great signing but one bad tackle away from a nightmare scenario.
