Thankfully, I've only been living here since September, but the 4-1 in the capital cup was difficult.
this is purely hypothetical but how would people feel about kevin doyle from wolves? if they want simeon jackson, how about a swap deal of some kind? i know he's not lit the world up at molineux but i've always felt he's a good player. maybe another who needs a change of scenery? would he improve our options or create more problems with the loss of jackson involved?
I dont think he would be a whole lot better than Morison tbh. He might be a little faster but id still rather have Graham or Hooper to add a little extra technical ability as well as goals.
hmm, i think he'd be a slight improvement on morro, has better feet. he was very good at my local club reading for years. like you say not on fire at wolves. he must be what around 30 now? has PL experience - i think his name was linked before
I don't really like Kevin Doyle, plus I think his wages at Wolves are pretty high. I think he is on more than Holt so would be looking at similar wages to Gary Hooper I reckon. The thing with Gary Hooper, whether it'll happen or not, but seeing how well Whittaker has done, someone who I had reservations about before. It makes me feel more confident about looking at players in the SPL. Kayal, Hooper and what about James Forrest, on the young side but looks like a good prospect to me.
on the other side to that, michael nelson has been playing every week in the SPL for kilmarnock and has just moved to division 4 bradford. you have to take each player on their merits. hooper would do well i think, certainly be ok at worst, kayal very impressive - i'd like him here.
Oh yeah, I think if we were to sign players you would have to look at Celtic maybe Rangers. David Templeton was linked to Premier League teams a year or so ago I believe. Maybe Johnny Russell being an exception to that but I think Celtic to have a bit of quality, I mean they did manage to beat Barcelona. Didn't realise Nelson had gone to Bradford, good luck to him. I like Michael Nelson, wasn't our best player but I think he played a big part in the dressing room and contributed to the harmony within the squad.
German papers reckon Guardiola has agreed to take over at Bayern Munich at the end of the season. Will we see Benitez become more than just 'interim manager' now?
i can't even begin to tell you how fascinated i am with guardiola's next career move. if it is, as suspected, bayern, then i think he will struggle to recapture his barca days. indeed, i think he will struggle wherever he goes.
The club have confirmed it now. I agree, I don't think he'll do as well, the situation he had at Barcelona was pretty unique.
Well it seems official now, surprised he didn't wait for a Prem job, I thought he was going to be next Man City manager after they appointed Txiki Begiristain as Director of Football.
let the fascination begin! i think its a good move for him - better than coming to the premier league - but i still feel he'll fail.
German football has much more of an impetus on nurturing home-grown talent than the English game does so I think it makes sense for him to go there and succeed. I think when he does eventually come to England it will be to one of the Manchester clubs. Man Utd obviously has a great history in producing home grown players and Man City have recently spent a huge amount of money on improving their youth development. By the time Guardiola is available again, it may start to bear fruit and suit him perfectly.
agree with the first bit but i expect him to go to chelsea at some stage rather than the manchester clubs, unless he does really well with bayern munich
josé. or moyes but i think sir alex will want mourinho first. and what sir alex wants, sir alex gets...
i'm really looking forward to guardiola vs klopp. for my money, the dortmund boss is the better of the two
