This story seems to have broken properly and the figure of £10m is, quite frankly a joke.
If De Gea went for a lot more than that then surely Tim should be £15m+.

If this is true... are there any players for Milan who we would want thrown into the deal?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...m-bid-sign-Newcastle-goalkeeper-Tim-Krul.html

AC Milan have launched a £10million bid to sign Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul.

The Dutchman, 24, is valued closer to £20m by his club, who will be reluctant to sell having let Demba Ba go to Chelsea and with talks planned today with wantaway captain Fabricio Coloccini.

Young England keeper Jack Butland is a potential replacement if the deal develops, with his club Birmingham City desperate to sell to raise funds.

Remember when I said what I said ? we are going to lose 3 or 4 this window and gamble of replacements !!! it could be disasterous or a huge success but we'll know soon enough. The squad will be no better and we won't make a net spend I assure you.

Relax. AC Milan are skint. They have no money to pull one and especially two deals like this off. This rumour is a definite non starter imo.

If half of these rumours are true we'll end up selling the ground because we'll have no team to play on it.

Disastrous or a huge success. It would appear so.

that's spooky... I've just finished a thread on this very topic.... although I think it could be a good thing to sell one or two at vastly inflated prices... as long as it's reinvested.

AC Milan, with no cash, have somehow found the £20m+ to buy Krul and pay his wages, with extra in reserve (at least double) to get Santon?

This is a Mail/Mirror story purely designed to try and kick the Geordie when they're feeling down. Ignore it. The source is Berlusconi saying he likes Santon.

I think Man Utd massively overspent on De Gea, which is fine because they're Man Utd and usually massively overspend on players...

    Bebe £7 million
Van Persie £25 million when he had months left on his contract
    Berbatov £30 million
    etc etc

They probably extract more from advertising and moving up 1 position in the league, so they can factor that into their deals.

£10 million for Krul is probably about fair in my estimation, but I could absolutely believe it if Ashley held out for £20 million!

Surely you guys have learned by now that anything in the tabloids is 90% likely to be complete b*ll*cks. It is strange we are enquiring about Butland though.

Well there might be some truth behind this story, Abbiati is 35 years old now and needs replacement very soon.
They are currently 7th in the league and had 27 goals against after 20 games. AC Milan has been scouring the Italian competition for a new goalie for some time now. Approached AS Roma a while ago for Stekelenburg but that deal went sour. It's still unlikely, but it's plausible.

I'd hate to see Krul go, but to let him go for £10m we'd have to be barking mad.

Are you saying he's an imposter implanted in our midst to betray the club he once loved? <yikes>

He's had a couple of bad games, but he's still the same player, who can make outstanding saves... And let's face it, he's got to be the best cross catcher in the premier league by a mile. If he improves his kicking and positioning further, he wouldn't be too far off the best keeper in the world in my opinion.
