Put simply it means you are "Sandwiched" other wise referring to being squeezed in, or constricted in some way, you are not being a sandwich, please try to see the difference.

 

So yes that's interesting and everything after this that consists of one substance between two of the same substance became a sandwich .

you cant say they are not a sandwich because the forst sandwich was made of bread.

Well thats's my point so after the original bread sandwich was called a sandwich everything that consists of one thing enclosed in two things of the same matter became a sandwich.

There is no argument here !I agree Mr Sandwich inveneted the bread sandwich , however now anything sandwiched is a sandwich.

Okay let me quote this for you, now l may not have all the details exactly right but bear with me on this.

in the USA, Boston i think, their High Court was asked to rule on this very point. it stemmed from a legal challenge concerning a shopping mall. One company in the mall sold things like Burritos, Tacos etc and lodged a complaint to stop another company opening up, that company were proposing to sell Sandwiches, which the original company said would be in direct competition with them.
The Court ruled that there was NO competition because Tacos, Burritos, filled wraps, waffles with fillings etc and all that kind of stuff were NOT sandwiches. The Court ruled that for a sandwich to be a sandwich, it must have at least two layers of BREAD with a filling of any edible kind.
SO my point is that when the legal definition of sandwich was challenged, the law said any edible filling, between at least two pieces of bread. Therefore for example the popular Scandinavian open sandwich, is not a sandwich, because it only has one piece of bread and must have two, to be a true, bona fide sarnie.

No because just because some court in America ruled it isn't a sandwich doesn't mean it was right - that's my point!

In short they ruled a sandwich isnt a sandwich which is nonsene and sandwich shop B would agree to this day.
