http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21026985 Linesman withdrawn because of "too much media interest" What the **** is that all about???.
Apparently at end of the Arsenal v Man City on Saturday he was caught by the cameras telling Lescott to go and clap the travelling fans who had shelled out £62 for a ticket. not quite sure why that is seen as so inflammatory to be honest, but apparently the FA and media wanted to make a big deal of it for some reason. (Edit: apologies, I didn't click on the link and didn't realise it fully explained what I just did)
I think the assistant lino deserves to be lauded rather than pilloried for pointing out to the over-paid prima donna's duty to their fans!
I know, it's unbelievable that this is being looked at in a negative way. Then again nothing surprises me about our media any more
Fcuk me, why don't they just get a politically correct, khaki coloured, gay, non cross wearing, hi viz bedecked pools panel to judge football then we can all go off riding into the sunset singing OTBC for the last time.
The incompetence of the Fergie Association shows no limits! They fail to ban Ferguson for his appalling beahviour towards Mike Dean and his assistants the other week and now they decide to drop an official for basically stating a fact! No one from Arsenal complained! Football is a wonderful game but its a shame that its being run by clowns! Oh and to top it off are we now at the stage where tackling is banned and to be punished yet blatant diving is encouraged?
