Hasnt Remy just had injury problems?. Having said that,If Hulse passed a medical, with two injurys that subsiquently kept him out for 6 weeks, then Remy should pass it easy!<doh>

Think partly that, partly London being far more desirable and I think even old M'Bia has had a few words. Also Harry has been a long term admirer and tried to get him before at Spurs. Newcastle are just less desirable and are in a similar league position.

Possibly, but who on earth would want to live in Newcastle? The North West clubs can attract names because of the various attractions in Manchester and Liverpool and they are not far from the pleasure beach at Blackpool.

London is the greatest city in the world so no wonder Remy and the like would consider a move here. I have no idea why anyone would want to go to Newcastle unless you like your birds to have legs like corned beef and enjoy fighting (often with birds who have legs like corned beef).

The reason i'm a little cynical is that he has gone from not even giving HR the courtesy of a meeting when he travelled to Marsaille to see him last week....to being a done deal with Newcastle....to now having his preferred move to us.....a complete 360 degree turn.....

Grove did you email your description of Newcastle to him before or after he changed his mind.....

The amazing thing is that our owners are clearly willing to go back in with the cheque book yet again despite the disaster that has been the last two windows. Is this a sign that they really are with us for the long term come what may, or perhaps one last punt at keeping us in the big time before walking away if they fail?

Good post AAAGH. I like Tony and the Board but I break out in sweats every time a transfer window opens up. Here's what a Newkie fan posted today:

"Just because the owner is rich it does not mean the club will be rich enough to become a European force.

If the owner introduces money to the Company that is QPR, it will need to be done through a directors loan account, a fancy sponsorship deal (a la Man City) or possibly through a rights issue of shares. All these would be discounted by the fair play rules.

Granted, that would not affect the stability of the club as long as Fernandez is happy to pump in funds to the club and lose money, but it does affect the ability to play in Europe. It is that which players will be looking at when they chose a club.

I have nothing against QPR but if they keep making signings like this without increasing revenue, it will cost them in the long run."

Sour grapes? No doubt. But its hard to disagree with what he actually says.

True Swordster but I can't believe any player has joined us to play European football!

if the aim was to push on from mid-table to the champions league - you'd be right swords.

I think our aim is to stay up - Europe is nowhere on the short term radar - so I don't think FFP is an issue for now

Indeed Gentlemen. But that was the Newkie fan that said that, not me. His sentiment though does make sense.

Make no mistake, this is a huge gamble we're taking. If it comes off then it'll be the greatest escape ever made. If it doesn't, well..................................

Remy deal delayed due to us and him not being able to agree personal terms - at least I think that's what the French says!

Don't think it is sour grapes since the man is talking sense. Even the most ardent QPR fan (all of us??) must agree that you cannot keep pumping money in without some sort of consequence some way down the line.

Nevertheless, I do trust the business nounce of Tony and Amit and hope that this is all planned out, including a contingency plan if / when we are relegated.

I'm a little bit skeptical about them especially about Remy. He must go from French league to Prem league and have instant impact. We can't have him adapting to the league for 3 moths.
