Playing devils advocate, I don't think that the board really deserve praise, no matter who comes in as it is a bit late. That said, unlike the chronicle website, I don't solely blame the board for our current rut, blame lies across the board and I worry that even with new personnel we may struggle. The board didn't make our set pieces horrific, Colocinni unable to defend, our defensive line too high or render us unable to come back from being behind.

We need players desperately, but we also need to buck up our ideas in terms of performance and tactics massively.

Your two pies are in the oven. I've done game for 2010 and chicken for Kat. Kat you get chicken as its a lean meat and I know you like to look after yourself. 2010 - yours is game as its a hearty pie that can cheer up any man.

I'm not really sure I blame the board too much, in truth. We did well last year, the reward was we keep our best players and try to add new talent where possible, whilst bolstering the youth system as well. Arsenal-lite, as I call it.

Unfortunately what happened in the summer was that the business on offer was not financially beneficial to the club. They clearly tried to get Debuchy, De Jong etc, but were priced out of deals. It was frustrating, but what the board did was actually pretty smart. They knew the same players, if they weren't sold at the time, would be cheaper in January due to dwindling contracts/unhappiness at not signing for us. That's why I really don't have any ill-will towards them, they're doing business on a budget and doing it well.
In a horrible twist of fortune, though, we had an injury crisis in the meantime amongst our playing staff which made our position weaker. They couldn't have predicted it, nobody except the most severe pessimist/psychopath could. We started the season with more players fit than ever, and only started picking injuries up after a few games on a regular basis. The board are moving as fast as possible to rectify the situation right now, in a transfer window which is hard to do business in. If they'd have bungled about, and no signed anybody, then I think people have reason to be angry towards them. At the moment, it appears we could do quite well out of it. Signing Debuchy is a major coup as far as I'm concerned, and speaks of how good our recruitment team actually is.

I just think Pardew has done quite badly with what he's got this season, which means people put the stress on the board for not giving him more "purples" because he has little talent for motivating or utlising anything else. I would gladly (and hope to) be wrong about him and make a lovely little apology thread, however.

    Erm...

    ...

Remy??!! I think I actually feel more disappointed for him really. He wanted to join his boyhood team of Arsenal before the weekend, now this.

Still, Wenger will nab him for nowt in the summer and Loic will have made his bank manager and the taxman pretty chuffed for 6 months.

And Ashley gets to visualise how many pies £8m will buy him instead... It all ends happily ever after :D

I would never put processed chicken in your pie, I'm insulted. My culinary skills are renowned. I've made you apple too just to stop your whinging <ok> You get pie because you claimed we would sell all of our best players and buy no one. Debuchy is already here so you were wrong.

Remy going to QPR would be really funny if we didn't need a striker so much. Ah well onto the next one, Harry looks to have done us. We won't be the first or the last. If they get M'Vila and Remy when in their situation you have to say hats off. Sure there will be clauses but still impressive work. I thought this Vegard Forren was meant to be really good and had Liverpool and Man U chasing him at some stage. Looks to be on route to Southampton for 3.5m. Given our needs for a centre back.................

There will be some twitchy reactions from some if the clubs around us keep pushing through deals. I'd think Mike will have "Under Pressure" on repeat in his office but he is probably too busy rigging his roulette wheel for tonights game with Alan.

No I sad we Will sell our best players and we will because that is what we do and where we are as club. So far this window we have sold one, our captain is next and I suspect bids for Santon, and even Cabaye maye come so I'm not having any pie yet at all. So far we have signed Debichy yes but in all seriousness we have lost Ba - Oh I forgot we are selling Simpson so ultimatly our squad is getting worse.

I hate to be like this but it's the truth.

Moving the goalposts now. It matters not, if Cabaye or Benni is here when the window shuts, you have pie to eat.

Can you imagine where we'd be if this squad didn't change in the next 10 years... Even the legions of female fans (and me) might be a bit sick of the sight of Santon, Cabaye and Debuchy by then!

We will sell at least 4 of them in the next two windows including the remainder if this one

    Ben Arfa
    Cabaye
    Santon
    Colo
    Tiote
    Krul

Make a note of that and if wrong I'll eat dick pie if you want

These players are all better than both the wages they get and to be at a club with no chance of be succesful.

It's not that we don't have a big stadium full of great fans but financially it's not possible to keep them
