5 and 1/2 years. Stonking. I doubt we will be keeping him for that long though. Here's hoping a few others follow his example. Full story at... http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/10161082.Forestieri_becomes_first_Pozzo_loanee_to_sign_for_Watford_permanently/
Contracts don't mean a lot but he is young and won't be on an awful lot and what wages he does will be paid by the Pozzos I am sure. Good news to get one in...now hopefully for the likes of Abdi and Vydra although I suspect they might be harder in terms of getting them to sign such a long term contract given the interest in them already from other clubs.
Maybe the idea behind the longer contracts is to safeguard their potential value to the Pozzos - given that transfer values appear to slump halfway into two or even three year deals. I can't actually see that similar contracts for Abdi or Vydra would be a problem - either could still be sold anytime during the contract if there is interest.
I have had a look on the BBC and they have said nothing. This is strange when they made a fuss about the loan players arriving.
It was on there that's where I saw it, you had to dig 6 levels down though.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21030860
That has to be the reasoning behind this. This is great news and Fessi's quote is first class. Now, does this contract come with longer studs for his boots? Hopefully Abdi and Vydra will commit themselves to a similar extent, that'd be brilliant!
