Why? I've got nothing to hide, if they're adults they won't have a problem.

This is what happens when food production is centralised and mass produced. Poor quality food from further away. Farmers are paid not to produce in order to not affect market prices which has greatly reduced local sources.

Locally produced food to meet practical demand is what's needed but that is jut not possible any more. We the masses have no land ourselves either mostly.
We are totally dependent now on the food basket countries, when the US has an iffy harvest food prices shoot up.

When populations rise further other food sources will be required and bugs are on the menu for sure, given their high protein and easy to farm properties, enjoy your beetle pies, Bear Grills will be a happy ****<laugh>

My boss at the first company I worked for used to wait til 4pm to have his lunch. The reason being that the local sandwich shop used to start selling their produce at a discount at that time so a £1.50 cheese sandwich would go for around 50p.

His basic salary was 60k. His bonus in a bad year was 250k, a good year would be 600k. Plus share options.

He was just doing his bit for world poverty/hunger.

    Yeah fair play to him.

When I was at uni and potless I used to wait until the right day and buy discounted stuf and then freeze it.

I do like spending decent money on a high quality steak now though <laugh>

No, me either and I've heard a similar story before where Macdonalds refused to hand a homeless shelter their leftovers even though the company policy was to bin it.

Just realised it was the banter thread and thought it would be too tempting.....

I worked in financial training back then, have had a few career changes since then! He was a board director and its a FTSE 250 company hence the massive salary. I assume he's still in the same job 15 years later as he wasn't a very bright guy and got the job because he was the chairman's tennis coach. Some people are born under a lucky star.

In Poland shops won't give free food to charities cos they have to pay the sale tax on it even if they give it away.
