Loic Remy is set to reject a move to Newcastle and join QPR's fight for survival, Sky Sports understands. The striker was expected to travel to Newcastle for talks after they agreed a fee in the region of £8.3m, but it has now emerged that Remy would favour a move to London. QPR boss Harry Redknapp appeared resigned to missing out on the player after revealing at the weekend that he had failed to secure a meeting with Remy while in France. "I was hoping for a meeting with him to encourage him to come," said Redknapp. "I think he felt embarrassed coming to see me to say he wasn't interested in coming to QPR." But it now appears that Redknapp's advances have attracted Remy, who was Alan Pardew's top target to replace Demba Ba. Arsenal and West Ham United have also been mooted as admirers of Remy, while Serie A side Napoli are understood to hold an interest. Redknapp is also believed to have approached West Brom with offers for striker Peter Odemwingie and defender Jonas Olsson as he looks to strengthen his squad for a relegation dogfight. The QPR boss was in Rennes on Saturday ahead of a possible bid for Yann M'Vila, but Djibril Cisse is expected to be told he can leave Loftus Road before the month is out.
It's a parody account. The guy who has that account spelled "Balotelli" wrong I'd think Mario would know how to spell his own name.
Not at all. How do you think journalists get stories, both pre twitter and post twitter? They speak to and have good relationships with players, managers owners etc. Twitter is simply the modern equivalent of having a pint or using the phone to get info. Players tweet each other ALL the time, so its no surprise that they are the first to reveal news and events.
Only reason this really amuses me is that I've been listening to people all day going on about Remy & Cisse and how awesome they will be etc etc. Frankly, as clubs the Toon piss on QPR, but that doesn't matter, it's just amusing. I guess this is how they felt when Ronaldo overlooked us for that nothing club in Madrid.
he's obviously got halfway up the gangplank saw the list and thought f**k this for a game of soldiers
To be fair would be pretty funny if it turnd out the whole thing was just barton on the wind up and all the journalists have latched onto it!!
If its a £110k a week that is the most over paid deal I have ever heard of for the talent of the player, he has hardly kicked a ball all season, they are hugely overpaying but guess its small beans really if he scores the goals that keep them up, just don't think he will and he will be off again when they get relegated. Very funny though if he did sign for them, karma for all the "you bought his ticket" jibes from last season lol
110k a WEEK mate. For a good, not great player. Chuckle as I have, that is a ****ing outrage. He's scored ONCE this season FFS!
