The buying power of Utd and City has nothing to do with the reason behind these players' desire to move to another club. Top players want to win things. A lot of players at Utd could earn more at City or Chelsea but wouldn't consider a move because they are at a club that win things.
How do you think Utd have been able to maintain their status as a top club ? Do you remember Rooney threatening to **** off until Utd paid him nearly £200k per week ?
There's no way you can rule it out, because it was their buying power that allowed them to buy the players and pay them more than Arsenal can afford to pay them.
Again simply asserting it doesn't make it true. You need to prove it, because moving jobs for more money is perfectly reasonable. So also is claiming that we didn't move jobs formore money, but for the opportunity, or the faith the company has in you or anything else. Nobody with career aspirations ever says in public that they just took a job because it paid more. So if the natural order has somehow been suspended and these people are the only people in history, who would not have changed jobs for money alone, how have you determined this?
sh1t happens . He was at Chelsea on a wedge , then the next day he is out on his arris. Managers are always becoming available. Jeez if the only reason we are sticking with wenger is because its difficult to get a replacement we truly HAVE lost all ambition . "We chose to do these things , not because they are easy , but because they are hard ." J F Kennedy.
Manager are always becoming available, for sure. How many of them are better than Wenger? Very few. How many available managers would you say would have a very good chance of being better for Arsenal than Wenger? That wasn't my point.
Well i hope he dont retire or we are royally shafted then aint we. God help us if there aint a better coach in the world than what we have. seriously ? very few managers better than Wenger now ?
and dont play the " i said available " card . Because at the right price anyone is available. and thats the rub aint it. Thats what Judas means by lack of ambition . Lack of loosing the purse strings to succeed.
it is no. Arsenal has money if they dont make CL. They are safe. The same players who come now would still come.
Again, that wasn't what I said. However, I think there are very few managers who'd do as well as Wenger has considering his financial restraints. Arsene Wenger is in the elite of world managers. Still.
I think you need to ask yourself how many clubs would want Wenger if we made him available ? Most would jump at the chance, and I mean most People are moaning about Arsenal getting rid of their best players and yet the same people want to get rid of our best ever manager.
Money is definitely the crux of the matter. I'd argue that Arsenal don't have anywhere near the financial clout to pull off half the stunts being asked of them at the moment.
You are seriously deluded if you think that ambition had nothing to do with these moves. If we were winning things it is unlikely that so many players would have left. RVP said as much in his infamous statement in the summer. So, with the greatest respect, you're spouting utter bollocks
I think people make the mistake of equating a lack of success with a lack of ambition. To me, the mindset that believes Wenger doesn't really care or isn't trying hard enough, is quite ludicrous.
To be fair, I doubt RVP or Nasri would have left to get more money at QPR. Ambition obviously had a part to play. Like every single decision anyone makes, it is based on a number of variables with differing strengths. All we can properly define is what these variables are, not what strength each of them holds (especially when it comes down to personal decisions).
When Wenger retires (which is inevitable) some day possibly 2014? what will we do? Will there be a mass suicide among Arsenal fans because life will no longer be worth living. Will season ticket holders just hand back their tickets? I see reasons to keep Wenger and also reasons to get rid of him ( if we fail to make champions league footie next season) people talk about limited resources at Wengers disposal.... How is this even so? The man has complete control over most aspects of the club so I find this hard to believe that his resources are so limited that he cant make a cheeky bid for an M'villa ( which we desperately need) if we fall out of the top four due to Arsene then what makes people think he will be able to get us back there again? after 7 years of slow decline. I'm not scared of change if its for the better at Arsenal. I'm not scared of sacrificing a few seasons of Champions league football if it means we are rebuilding and progressing. The worst thing to witness for any fan is a club in decline especially when it's avoidable through a change of philosophy and tactical efficiency. I would prefer this to be with Arsene but if its not then so be it.
