Chelsea will be better than us, they have better players, they will dominate posession, they will create more opportunities, and quite rightly they will be massive favourites but...

I have a sneaky feeling we might just nick a point here, no sound logic or tactics just an observation over a lifetime of following football that teams an a great roll (that'll be Chelsea, not Saints!) often slip up when they are not expected too, and often to a team that has good spirit and fight and everyting to play for.

With tickets going for £50, I kinda doubt it.

    Man City style boycott, anyone?

I heard it was, I'm going :). Anything but a thrashing is a good result for me.

i got a ticket in the lower shed (as in the home end) last week as i figured the away would sell out and also I cant pick the tickets up from Saints Box office when they went on general sale. I'm really looking fwd to this one, easy for me to get to and a few beers in the local pubs before hand should be fun. We did the business at Villa. This is a bit of a bonus fixture and who knows what might happen.

Park the bus from the first minute. Probably go a goal down, park the bus even harder. Anything better than damage to our GD will do here.

I still think we can get something. Unbeaten in our last three away. Confidence should be high!

The key here is to avoid scoring: if there's one thing that we should have learned from our games against good sides, it's that scoring goals wakes them up. I hope Nigel instructs the team to boot the ball out of play every time we get into the final third; do that for 90 minutes, and Chelsea will be lulled into such complacency that scoring the stoppage-time winner will be a simple task.

Dread to think how he'd celebrate scoring a goal. Not sure I'd want to be anywhere near him, team-mate or opponent.

I would be very worried if I was in the front row of the stand if he did score!

All the fire extinguishers in the ground would be at risk.

I would be very worried if I was the goalpost; if Boruc scores, it could be the target of a rather vicious celebratory headbutt.

If the Forren signing happens, Jos has every incentive to have a good game. Though I'm sure he always has done his best.

Lallana - OUT (but has stepped up his training and is now kicking the ball)

Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez admits his side must find a way to break down opposition who arrive in west London with limited attacking ambition.

The Blues host Southampton at Stamford Bridge tomorrow night and Benitez accepts that scoring opportunities for any Chelsea player will be at a premium.
The Blues have struck 17 times in their last five away matches, but have lost twice - against QPR and Swansea - and failed to score on both occasions in their two most recent home games.
"We are doing well away but at home other teams play deep and wait and there's less space," he said. "We are still creating chances but the main thing is to be more clinical.
"If we take our chances it will be totally different because the teams we play will be more open and we will have the space we're looking for.
"But if that's not the case, as in the last two games, it is more difficult. When you play away there is more space, the players we have can make a big difference.
"If you have 11 players behind the ball you have to find the space and be more precise.
"We have confidence that we can do well. We scored many goals against Aston Villa and Nordsjaelland.
"The last two games were more difficult because they had 11 players behind the ball and we have to find a way to overcome that."
