Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila is closing in on a €9.5m (£7.9m) move to Queens Park Rangers, according to reports.

The 22-year-old is believed to be in London now to undergo a medical with the Hoops.

Harry Redknapp was in France last night to watch M'Vila play in Les Rouges et Noir's 2-0 defeat at home to Bordeaux.

The French international has reportedly attracted attention from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.

Mania is working on Remy too telling him London is a better place than Newcastle. This M'Vila is apparently amazing but is a total nutter, he will fit right in with us! At least we have the right man to manage him.

I would have been over the moon if we had signed a player of this potential back in the summer. Now I'm just thinking why another bloody midfielder particularly after Shaun Derry did his job so well at the weekend. I wonder if he will have a release clause for if we are relegated?

Defensive but think Yaya toure, we could sell him on for 2 or 3 times the fee in 3 years.

Just read an interesting bit on QPR trying to 'knick' the deal for Remy. Apparently he now says that he would move to London. (not ITK just what i have read) on newsfeeds/twitter.

This guy is a hot prospect guys. With Diakite going the other way and then mbia dropping back we need him

Would that still be possible if he's played mainly in the Championship over that period?

Makes no sense from any perspective.

If this is true and he ends up coming to us, it's a fantastic signing. I like Diakite and think M'bia is a lot better than he's started for us but M'Vila is top, top class and would definitely improve our defensive capabilities. I'd imagine if he does sign that he'll have a relegation clause but so long as it means us getting back what we're paying for him then I have no problem with that at all.

However, we still need to add a centre-back or two and at least one proven Premiership goalscorer.

It is strange AAAGH. I would just say that as great as poor ole Dezza has been for us, at his age he's not going to be able to keep that level of performance up every game.

What concerns me is the price tag. 8 million quid is an awful lot of money. This January market is so overinflated its criminal. Clubs hold desperate Clubs like ourselves to ransom. The same player would probably cost half as much in the close season.

Derry played well Saturday but also very nearly cost us the game in the first half with one sloppy pass, he's always liable to do that and is very slow. However, comparing Derry to M'Vila is like comparing Bothroyd to Van Persie. If he improves the team, and he definitely would, then it's got to be a good move right?

No idea Ellers but if he does sign I wouldn't be surprised to see remy pitch up at ours as there remains interest.

Is M'Vila as good as the hype (I am not WUMing, I really don't know)? If he is then get him in with a relegation clause. Still need a solid CB. Chris Samba would be nice.

Correct. And he did it at Chelsea too which very nearly resulted in a goal.
