    We should fight tooth and nail to keep him. He is still developing and a few more years here would be better for him.

    Why should we just accept a bigger club will take him?

    Perhaps in a few years we may be higher up the table.

    Let's not just cash in and say never mind. I hope this is not the mind set of the board or MON. If you want to progress you keep your best players. Okay a ludicrous offer then perhaps but otherwise **** off!

    I'd love us to keep him, and wholeheartedly agree with your points, it's just the fact that the lad isn't just a great keeper, he's potentially one of the wprlds best.

    Can we, as a club, really expect to get to the equivalent level that he can as an individual? The sad and correct answer is no.

    Hopefully we keep him for 2-3 years, then watch with pride as he performs at the top, top table with a top class CL team.

    It's no being defeatist mate, it's being realistic, I'd like nothing more than the lad to stay here his whole career!

    I grew up in Belgium so I'm delighted at his progress more than most.

    Having said that, £20m and he can leave with my blessing. I'm sure he's going to go on and do something great wherever he is.

    Having watched both United & Arsenal this morning I can tell you just where he'll end up......bright lights of London, VERY soon.

    You & us all BUT, Westwoods not just good, he's also very good so sometimes one has to take one for the Team & 18-25m would help ease the way.

    Any offer over 15m and he would leave with my blessing. Mint keeper but I have every faith in Westwood who I also think is a quality keeper.

    I don't think Arsenal will spend the money required to sign him to be honest!

    Did you watch the game. Mingolet or a keeper of his ability is their ONLY chance of CL football next season.

    I think what he was getting at is Arsenal will probably not pay that kind of money for a keeper and I would be inclined to agree with him. Even though its obvious they need one.

    I don't think they'd bid anything over £10m, just a feeling I have. When have they ever spent for the best, especially for a keeper. Best not leave for that.

    <ok>

    <ok>

    Thanks guys.
    We all agree they don't like to spend.
    I’m sure it’ll hurt them big this season & the next if they don’t change it quickly. RVP is the most recent example & the loss of CL money will have a flow on effect, not just the revenue but the attractiveness to new players.

    I think he can be defined as an outstanding young prospect and still an apprentice. For me he should remain for another 3-4 seasons to prove his potential then see who needs anywhere in Europe. He's got everything going him by staying with us.

    Still young enough to stay with us for a couple of seasons at least then move on to one of the big boys, always rated Mig ahead of Westwood even when his distribution was being questioned by some on here.
    One of the best in the World possibly one of the best in the PL probably this is what other clubs will look at not his International career in my opinion.
    As said I hope he stays as it would signal intent that we want to keep our best players and move on as a club but, again if stupid money is thrown at us (agreed probably not Arsenal) then we will let him go.
