i think we need to win 8 more games to stay up. we have 8 home games three of which are the two manchester teams and arsenal. We are not winning away so we should be looking to at least try and beat one of these three teams. yesterday we had chances going forward that would not have cause are defense problems but no one pushed into the box. in the dying moments of the match we had the last throw on, we should have thrown every one forward but nothing happened it just came to nothing. there were lots of times in the game and to be fair lots of other games we have played when going forward and no one was in the box. we now dont have the time to play for draws at home. the other thing we could do is start winning away games which for us is nearly impossible. we do have to play most of the teams around us away. we beat chelsea and southampton beat villa. But to do this we need to start playing more attacking football. i just hope harry brings in a striker as soon as possible or starts getting cisse playing well. sadly time is not on our side
We are not winning away except for the last away game. If anyone can do it, Redknapp can. Both yesterday and at Chelsea the tactics were spot on.
Agreed. It's refreshing to see our team going out and playing to a plan. The players are now working for each other. No doubt in my mind that if we continue to perform then results will come.
We need to start winning games is a thread that made sense to open before the Chelsea game The thread should now read keep the excellent results and performances going from the last 2 games through to the end of the season If we can we will have every chance of survival
A lot of people seem to think if we keep on drawing we'll somehow stay up. Nonsense. We've got to start winning and we've got to start winning NOW!
First up HR has made us a bit more difficult to beat....Did anyone seriously expect us to get 4 points from Chelsea & Spurs?......A few weeks ago i honestly thought we would still be on 10 points at the end of January....now as i have said on another thread anything more tha 8 points from the next 6 games sees us with more points than at the same stage last season......this is do-able. The wins will come...the side are set up based on whom we are playing....expect a bit more adventurous line ups against WHU, Wigan, Reading, Saints etc....but more of the same as yesterday against the top sides.
I can see Harry adopting a similar plan against whu and man c. He'd probably take two points from those games. It's the home game against norwich which will tell all and hopefully we'll have the new faces we need by that stage. That's where it all starts for me, if we can just hold out for a few more games.
We've got 4 points from the last 2 league games which, i would bet, is more than any of us expected...and equal to hughes sum total. We are harder to beat, not conceding and looking more of a team. We're not the finished article yet but definately improving. Keep it going Arry...we're all right behind ya !!!!
It's not about needing to win 8 games, it's about winning two more games than the 3 above us which is easily doable.
In my mind, it is payback time for some teams who've beaten us at home that might / should / probably would not have had we had Harry at the helm. So Hammers, Swans, Soton, Villa and Reading - please be on alert that we need 3 points from each of these games. If we have any chance at all (and we do have a small chance), I suspect it is written in the footballing future that our last game against Liverpool will require us to get a point or 3. Would be a nice way to stay up but much happier to achieve safety before that.
Shouldn't be a problem as they're sh*t. Take Suarez out of the game and they've got nothing. Sterling ain't worth a **** either.
Andy I know you're only messing but that sh*t is dangerous. Race has got nothing to do with it. I'm being overly harsh on young Raheem of course. I just watched the United/L'pool game today and he had a 'mare. Also I'm a bit angry that he didn't stay with us!
