Southampton are no mugs but from what I saw of them at Villa Park yesterday they are a team we should beat at home, we will get chances just have to take them. It's crucial we win our next 2 games to put a 13 point gap between ourselves and Arsenal. There is no doubt that when the Europa League kicks in, playing Thursday-Sunday will hinder us. Once Bayern have dispatched of Arsenal they'll effectively be playing only once a week. Important we build enough of a gap to make sure top 4 is ours. If we win the next 2, with Arsenal playing West Ham and Liverpool the gap could increase, no RVP to bail them out this year and they won't find a replacement as good as him. For once let's make life easier for ourselves
The Southampton game is huge. Win and we get confidence at home for the Arsenal game. Lose and we have no confidence. Draw and it doesn't help our cause... Win against Arsenal and Southampton and I think we can say hello to a top 4 spot come the end of the season
DL--we have ,as you know, thumped them 5-1 on their own park! However this may not be a good thing coming into a game where the squad assumes we've got 3 points before the kick off! If we treat them like they were Barcelona we'll win 6-0!
Agree with this, if we get a good win here it will go some way to banishing the home blues we seem to be going through these days.
Tell it to Rafa so he picks the correct team for once. Sick of him getting his priorities and teams wrong. Know he wants to win every game, but the PL is now light years more important than the rest. Forget trophies, lets get through this crappy season at least qualified for a run at the CL next time round, with a decent strike force, midfield and manager, if we can find one who wants the bloody job !!!
Agreed with the sentiments here - we need to go at the throat from the off none of the complacent attitude we saw against QPR. I think Terry's comeback is timely esp as we need someone to fire up our side at home games - crucial that we get max points from next 2 games as it sets us up nicely for the home straight.
