I reckon there should be a ban on substitutions during the time added onto the 90 minutes. It irritates me when teams make changes for a mere 2-3 minutes just to waste time when they're in front. And, yes, I would also do this for injuries too.

And whilst I'm at it, I'd revert to the old rule where the goalkeeper can't ponce about in his penalty area whilst carrying the ball, but only has a limited number of steps and time within which to release it.

The goalkeeper is supposed to release the ball after no more than six seconds, it's just not being enforced...

I think it's counter productive to make such late subs anyway, as the ref has to add on 30 seconds for every one made. Same for every goal scored.

100%. Do you remember a game a few seasons back at the Hawthorns where we were winning with 4 minutes added time played and the interim managers, Bircham and Gallen, started making substitutions to slow the game down? Well it backfired as the ref added on another 2 minutes and they equalised. We were seeing the game out comfortably before that happened. Its pointless.

True, but one in the bush is worth a go.

but half the time they don't bother so its worth making them in added time.

however I think we should have an official clock that runs 30 mins each half and its stopped for every break in play. it would stop time wasting.

They scrapped the rule because opposing players kept blocking the keeper from making a quick release whilst the ref ran away not looking properly, and then they ended up conceding a freekick whilst looking for a second option as it looked like they were wasting time.
