There was a time, a long time ago, that we used to score goals...lots of goals. When that stopped happening we shored things up by mastering the midfield, and then we became excellent defensively (thanks Steve Clarke). However, we now have a lightweight midfield, and one of the leakiest Feds in the premier league,so...what's happened Brendan? What is actually being worked on during training? Sturridge showed positive signs when he came on but we need to get every aspect of the game back on target because a better united side would have had another goal or two today and that's scary with city coming up! I just don't know what we're good at anymore because that first half today was woeful...Come on Brendan, take it back to basics if need be but let's get this sorted!
Although we should thank Steve Clarke, we had a very strong defense under Rafa too and it was even better under Gerard 'defend at all costs' Houllier!
We're good at moaning! Na, we're average at all aspects, but by no means poor. We need to improve and that starts from the back. Lucas is still working himself back into fitness which will help. Thought Brendan made several poor calls today, I hope we don't see that again because the buck stops at him.
We're good at being inconsistent! Nah, we lack balance between attack and defence. I think we either over commit players or don't commit enough players forward, we often get caught due to not picking up a second ball, and our entire midfield will be cut out with one pass. Now, this has unsurprisingly improved since Lucas returned (and when Henderson has played). We often to push our fall backs forward, so if you're midfield is getting removed out of the equation, we're often left 3 on 3 at the back. Today Agger and Skrtel couldn't deal with Utds movement up front, Agger was getting moved all over the place which left a lot of space for Young and Van Persie. Individually we're strong, but as a unit I'm not convinced, Johnson and Enrique are fantastic players but they need to time when to get forward better and when to stay back. When you predominantly play a passing game and be patient, if you get caught square more often than not you'll be caught out, Allen has been a culprit recently, I really don't know what's happened to him, he looked bright at the start of the season. It'll take time and patience for the mistakes to be ironed out, and for Rodgers to bring in his players to suit the style we play, as the season has gone on we've been much more solid. We can only improve
Also a complete lack of desire to get stuck in and get the ball back, never mind the 7 seconds bullshit which never happens. All we did differently was to play with desire in the second half, chased them down and they didn't like it. We got on the ball more therefore and played our game. Shame we over play it constantly though, sometimes a shot/cross is a good option.
We're good at still winning trophies and reaching finals despite lacking the quality and consistency to challenge for the league.
Yeah...Gerrez, Suarrol & Carrard Back on original 606 it was Gerros or Torrard but obviously had to change it.
Were you in special class in school? that's a joke! <3 (that is a cone and a bum, don't flatter yourself)
Actually, yes! I learnt to speak at Tesco. Its where speech therapy was, didn't start talking until I was four or five PS...taken as a joke too
