Fellow nesters, I have a dilemma that I am seeking some guidance on. I have been planning to visit my nephew, whose wife has just had another little 'un, in Abu Dhabi during the bank holiday week in late May, it's Mrs W_Y's birthday and half term, so she now has her heart set on going. Just about to push the button to book the flights and Little Miss W_Y decided to check the dates and guess what? Yes, the playoff final would be on when we would be away. So my dilemma is whether to book the flights or not..
What's the old saying - Always err on the side of caution? Alternatively - Keep the faith & bank on automatic promotion. Personally I'd opt for the former and go another time.

Not liking the forecast much, i have two tests tomorrow morning and i fear they may not go ahead, please let the snow wait until tomorrow afternoon! Off to see Les Mis tonight...i can't believe how many people have seen it already! I'm soooo looking forward to it...and the girls are very excited!
Mornin all. More time in the car today, after the 8 hours in the car yesterday. This time to take Kiri out for a birthday meal, after seeing Les Mis. I cant wait, it looks phenomenal! I hope the snow holds off!
Another book of Watford I do not have. I finished theTheos Glint Of Silver and enjoyed the story, even if I thought it finished quickly. One page the solution was not known and a few more everything was settled and the army was off to fight the Danes. On thing I liked was that the main character was female. Almost every detective type story has a man as the main focus, but for a man to write the story with a female main character was unusual and interesting. In some ways it was similar to the novels of Cadfæl, which I like. The descriptions of places and events was also good and added to my enjoymnet. I am now waiting for the second book.
Do both. Go to Abu Dhabi with Mrs W_Y. Leave her and return for the footbal then go back to Abu Dahbi for a few days more. She might have to stay for two weeks, but I think she will enjoy that. One problem is if we got to the play-off final and then lost your journey would be a long trip after being beaten. Coming home from Manchester was bad but Abu Dahbi is a lot further to travel.
Glad you enjoyed it Ak. The ending is a bit rushed; I'll try to prolong it a bit next time! About 90,000 words done so it won't be too long before it's ready to be formatted for Kindle and paperback. If you have a moment, could you cut and paste your comments into a review on the Amazon.co.uk/Books site? I could do with one or two more!

I'm really sorry to say I've tried to get into twice now and got stuck both times. Not sure why this is, so I can't make any constructive comments. I desperately want to like it because of 'the Watford family' thing. I read a lot of historical fiction- Roman, mediaeval and Napoleonic in particular. I have a degree in history too, and studied mainly mediaeval topics,so I like the obvious care you've taken with historical accuracy. So what is it? I'll have a serious think and PM you, Theo, if I come up with my issues with the book.

WOW!!!! Les Mis was AMAZING. I never knew that Russell Crowe could sing as we'll as act. Hugh Jackman wasn't the best singer, but he was very passionate and i ended up really liking him. There were some amazing cinematic scenes I really want to see it in London now.
Just back from Les Mis too...and i can't agree BHD! Russell Crowe was a real weakness. That part is filled with emotion and passion, and heaped with anger...and the poor bloke couldn't do any of those things while he was singing. That said, Anne Hatherway was outstanding, by far the best performance in the film. It was great to see Coln Wilkinson given a part, i saw him in the original production as JVJ at the Barbican all those years ago...amazing that was, there'll never be another JVJ like that. The Eponine was lovely, but why oh why did they cut Gavroche's song, and why oh why oh why did they add disney style songs to the brilliant musical score that stood out like a sore thumb! Still, i still managed to sob my way through for nearly 3 hours, and can't wait to see the show again...which with the right cast is even more emotional! Dan, if you go and see it, don't sit anywhere but the stalls...you will be engrossed, and will quite possibly prefer it...though i'm not sure how seeing the film first will affect your view. PS: Hugh Jackman was ok, once he got his accent sorted...and his strong singing was ok, but his warble got on my nerves...verbrato doesn't have to be like that! lol
