I'm sick of hearing where would we be without fletchers goals big Sam stated it again before yesterday's game well Sam fletcher didn't score and look what happened.Anyway I'm sat watching man utd game and rvp has just scored his 21st of the season now there's no mention of where would man utd be without his goals or any other teams main goal threat Suarez,ba etc.So why is it just us it really boils my blood rant over any thoughts.
Every single club on the planet would struggle without their main strikers goals. Where would Barca be without Messi and his 92 goals last year? Real Madrid without Ronaldo and his 40 + goals the other season. Its a completely pointless and frankly childish discussion but one which the media and commentators seem to love having. If we lost Fletcher then who is to say we wouldn't see Wickham step up or buy someone else in. Ba has scored 48% of the mags goals but Cisse would be expected to step in here or else they will bring another striker in. If RVP was injured today and out for the season, I'll guarantee you SAF will be straight out to the market for a replacement. Strikers cost the most and are generally paid the most and no team can prosper without their best one. No team.
Fletcher got two assists according to Fantasy Premier League, I didn't see the game. He's an important player who gives a **** how we'd be without him. The fact is that we do have him.
There is a lot more to Fletchers game than scoring goals. His hold up play and fetching other people into the game are just as important. He may be our lrading scorer but others are now contributing which was not happening earlier in the season.
3 goals yesterday and 3 different scorers. None of them Fletcher but he had a hand in 1 and had one disallowed (which was the coolest finish of the day btw). He was also fantastic all game until he went off and contributes to our complete play not just the striking options.
I heard yesterday that without RVP's goals and assists ManU would be 8th - which as stats go is pretty pointless given that if RVP wasn't there somebody else would be and whilst they may not be as good they would have contributed and ManU would not have been 8th. Same is true of Fletch - Connor might have been in instead and got half as many goals but you can't just remove the record of the player all together to make a point!
After yesterday you should be able to work it out for yourself Fat Sam. If not then "without Fletchers goals" we'll stillbe far to good for West Ham United.
