I hesitate to criticise a team that could do us in the play offs but I agree with Rocky about Stevenage. Euphemistically, they play to their strengths. It's unfortunate for paying spectators that their strengths are pushing the laws of the game to their furthest margins and, frequently, slightly beyond. Daggers and Stanley have proved that "smaller" clubs can certainly compete with the quality of their football. I hope Stevenage switch to that soon. "Horrible team, horrible manager, horrible place" as Steve Cross summed them up on Radio Shropshire.
good luck in the play-offs Shrews. Enjoyed the banter this season. Hope the ginger ninja finally realises he isnt good enough to be a professional footballer at the end of this season!!! P.S where is Jenny?? Could it be she has gone quiet since the mighty wanderers took the last promotion spot?
Have no fear devonblue - I've seen Jenny take on the massed ranks of reality denying, Sven/Qadbak era Notts County fans almost single-handed. Wigglesworth Wanderers' success is but a bump in the road. And Mighty Matt (3 assists in 45 minutes on Saturday) will do very nicely thanks. Will your lot be pensioning off the "goal" scoring, wash'n'going, Robbie Savage wannabe Ainsworth or can he be wheeled out for League 1?
shrewdchemic - Thank god, i thought she'd disappeared! I accept us 'Wigglers' success is merely a bump in the road for you - I just wasnt sure they'd invented the road up there yet 'Mighty Matt' - I am speechless. And dont worry about Ainsworth - a pre-season of blow drys, fake tans and public speaking about our PROMOTION will get him going again. Seriously though good luck in the play-offs. Of all the teams ive seen this season, you or Torquay played the best football out of the playoff teams and deserve to go up. Keeping fingers crossed that Stevanage dont do it.
I lost the will to live after the last time we played Stevenage. They beat us using every underhand method known to football and sadly we couldn't cope with it on the day. If you beat the gulls make sure your team put on the industrial shin pads! Please don't let that sad excuse for a football team (can u really call it football) get promoted
I'm as happy as a pig in ****, Ron my dear friend. Will be even happier if we get a win on Saturday, but it'll be a tight game. Will you be watching??
Yes I too will be cheering on the Shrews, I've enjoyed the banter big time. Matt Harrold... three assists in 45 mins? Wow, what a player. Gaz Ainsworth... let's face it, you really wish he played for you don't you Shrews? He's a legend, and we love him. He's faster than a speeding bullet, ran rings around these 'lesser' teams in League 2... in fact, I think he's going to do even better in League 1. He's our captain, he's our star.
