In my opinion, with the players we have in the squad, NOW

The position we need most is a number"10" ( not a striker or a wing forward), and by a distance too, and a high quality one

Sneijder is available but theres doubts with him ,and FSG would rather nuclear war starts 2moro than spend cash

It appears Assaidi isnt wanted long term, I would go for Eriksen, NOW, I think he will cost more in the summer and I think there will be A LOT more competition for him too, Ajax would love to sign Assaidi, I think Assaidi + £12m would be close to being enough. TBH Id prefer Isco but he will end up at Real Barce ( hes that good thhey will want him)

I would certainly agree with this one. christian eriksen i top class if if it is true that he is only 20mil in price its an absolute steal.

suarez 22.8mil... now worth 40-50mil... this is good business... carroll 35mil now worth 17 mil... but more like 5-10 if he keeps it up to get home to newcastle.

sneidjer will want 180k per week... but christian eriksen could fit the wage bill. I totally agree buying him would be fabulous...

i'm thinking though that figuring out how to line up with him, gerrard and the likes of suso and such.....

anyway. assiadi plus 12mil is not a deal its a total steal... daylight robbery....

Hasn't he been linked to us in the past and recognizes that after this season will probably head to the prem? I would have Agger on the phone with him all the time to get him to come over and say sorry Assaidi you are bait. <ok>

Rumour is we've bid for Moussa Sow. Great if true.

On Eriksen, he wasn't brilliant last season... but the potential is there. Would love him, even as a sign of intent.

10 million is a good price as well. Got enough experience, strong, pace, and has shown he can score goals.

    Sturridge---Sow----Suarez

I hope we bid for Moussa Sissoko. 3.5 is just peanuts for a player who offers something different in the midfield, power.

Never seen Sow play but looking at his goal scoring stats doesn't seem too impressive. Only hit double figures once which was last year in France when got 25 and has 6in 15 league games so far this season.

I like him, I think he will bring a lot to our team and offer another option up front.

Funny with all the S's we could have!

if we want to be critical just look to the team sheet

    reina
    johnson skertl agger enrique
    lucas gerrard henderson
    sturridge suarez stelring/borini

for me its decent but does lack something. i mean in 2009 we had a big contrast in styles going.

    reina
    arbs carra skertl aurelio/dossena
    mascherano alonso
    kuyt gerrard rieira
    torres

thats as good as we got in 15 years yeah? so whats so different? suarez is banging them in like torres alebit i na different way. torres was all about leading the line and headers, breaking through 1 on 1 etc. one point is once we sold keane that january and torres got injured we lost it in the league... we've not had two forwards since until now. (not counting andy and his injury/ suares suspension)

the defense i nfairness is probably more talented now but it was functional and focused on not conceeding back then.

kuyt was industrious and closed down up the pitch and alonso and macherano covered more gorund that any other midfield i nthe country. right now we've just added someone right right IMO and our midfield is in no way comparible in work rate.

I think as people have identifed we need someone in midfield to shore the whole thing up. if our tactics are really to use the full backs as wing backs and even to play the ball from pepe to them from goal kicks etc then we really need to shore up the break away goals.

I also think we are actually closing down less than i expected under rodgers. only suarez is really closing down and the others like stelring and downing thus far have been sitting back and wide to cover full backs... henderosn is popping up but we seem to be relying on getting it back at the half way line then keeping it at the back for long periods rather than closing down really quickly.

I dunno... my opinion is eriksen is goign to be the best midfielder in europe in the next 5 years. javi martinez went to bayern and he's alonso like.. eriksen is more gerrard. If we buy eriksen (which i hold little hope btw) then shelvey must go.. we could get 6mil to offset the fee there!

sissoko does seem very good value at that price... what do we do with hmi then? do we have coady looking a little better i nthe least 3 months? coudl he be the ragny player we could bring up? not sure. 3.5mil is a snip.

Sow? made a pigs ear of his move so could be a summer one for us. could get cheaper than 10mil.. don't see it in the next 2 weeks.

I watched some videos of Sow. He sure likes an over head kick.

My concern is that he got a lot of goals from off the ground passes into the box. A lot of high ones. He would get so many chances like that at LFC, and we dont want to tempt any one to play hoof ball.

What I did like was he can score with just one or two touches when other players have done all the work. He gets in the right places and is always ready to pounce.

Personally I cannot see him and Sturridge both playing at the same time.

We know how we love our loans......

I'd take him in a ****ing heartbeat. Think he would thrive in our attack.

i agree.... if we wer ein a position to have cash and know what we're building i say having that option to change it is ideal... carroll's problem is he can get there and is a guy who misses loads.

i think if you are mobile and will score most chances rodgers would have you.....

Right now we are doing a 4-3-3 so we are not in for second line men like mata types we are looking for wide men and players who can get i nthe box... sturridge ticks the boxes... does sow?

    re: sneidjer...

so lets not say i don't beleive it but....

    1. today is a HUGE day, man utd away

    2. every paper wants to catch the big numbe rof fans out there dying to read all about the game.

    3. the people splash the biggest name out there all over thier pages to give an extra hook to draw in the punters.

do you see why i am skeptical?

  19. Sneijder is probably my favourite player of the last three or four years but, as much as I would love it, I don't or think we will sign him. I don't want him because of his high wage demands and I think we have seen the best of him. I don't think we will sign him because we are not at a level to either entice him or pay him those sort of wages. I also think him joining could disrupt the squad spirit since it would be a big earner coming in when most of the squad are low earning/youngsters, this fits both points.

However, if we did sign him then I would be getting a name on the back of my shirt for the first time in about five years! <laugh>

I'll be honest I'd much rather have Eriksen than Sneijder! He's going to be a cracking player, would certainly show some intent if we signed him.
